Started new thread Red Flag Video 4/2/2016 10:02 PM

Was tonight the first time they've aired the video of Dungey jumping on the Red Cross flag? I thought it wasn't the best place for the flagger to be, but short of running across the racing line to get to the outside of the turn, he did fine with waiving ... more »

Added reply in a thread 9 yr old jumps 160' on 65 9/8/2015 10:22 PM

As someone who studied brain development, I'm going to disagree with you on this. It is physically impossible for a 9 year old brain to be "fully aware" of high level concepts like death and paralysis. Kids lack the neural connections that are required ... more »

Added reply in a thread 9 yr old jumps 160' on 65 9/8/2015 10:10 PM

There will always be kids who say they want to do crazy things like jump the farthest or ride the fastest or be the "Most" at something. A certain % of kids are wired that way. As a parent, it's our choice to pursue these dreams or not based on OUR judgement ... more »

Added reply in a thread States cannot ban same sex marriage 6/30/2015 8:56 PM

Marriage is one of the most powerful symbols we use in our society. Keeping same-sex couples from accessing that symbol by trying to say that civil unions should suffice is the exact same thing as "separate but equal" back in the days of Jim Crow. It ... more »

I was on the fence about attending Millville this year (I go every other year or so) and after learning that Eli is out, I've decided to not go this year. I know you're all very excited to get my scheduling update, but I was curious how many core MX ... more »

Added reply in a thread Embarrassing bike maintenance stories 5/27/2015 3:39 AM

I was putting a fresh top end in my 1999 RM125 the night before a race and it was late after a long day of work. The exhaust valve stems on that year of RM have a weird little collar that the holds them in place and if you look really closely you can ... more »

Best part is the big dude in the green jacket eating something. He shuffles to the right a step then just stops and looks at the bike like he's slightly bored with out of control bikes.

Option 2 for sure.

Added reply in a thread Dungey rides like McGrath 5/3/2015 10:48 AM

The current rider who reminds me of McGrath the most is Marvin Musquin. Same ease on the bike with a speed level that is insanely deceptive. He rides next to other riders and looks like he's doing less work, but he's going so much faster.

Added reply in a thread Video: Jacob Hayes Throwing Away the 2015 Arenacross Title 5/2/2015 1:36 PM

Have all you dudes bitching about Hayes hitting hard been watching AX all season? Put that hit at round 5 and most people would think it was good racing. It clearly didn't work out for him but it was a pretty standard AX move.

Added reply in a thread What is harder mentally....street riding or MX? 4/22/2015 9:43 AM

I wrote my response before reading yours - I couldn't agree more. Smart aggressive street riding is safer by far than going with the flow and letting others determine how it will all go down. I will admit to occasionally crossing the "smart" part of ... more »

Added reply in a thread What is harder mentally....street riding or MX? 4/22/2015 9:39 AM

I rode street bikes way before I ever rode MX and only raced MX for a few years so I'm probably not typical but I feel safer on the street. The key for me on the street is to feel like I'm controlling the situation more than the situation is controlling ... more »

I can't get that video to embed using this tablet but it's broadcast footage of his crash. Looks like a power wheelie gone all kinds of wrong. Someone want to embed it please?

They give her air time for the same reason we still talk about the Jamaican bobsled team. It's human interest. It gives our sport a good angle for viewers. I think it's funny how much that twists the panties of some folks as if there's some kind of strict ... more »
