Remember watching him in awe in a 93 GP when he flew by Everts on that number 67 Jan de Groot Honda and cleared

Thats probably true also- forgot about Tortelli. He too would beat Everts much the same as Albee did, another of the few riders to do so.

Yea- he was so quick when he was on it, which was most of the time. Albee and Pichon were the only people I really remember that could beat Everts regular in the GP's and maybe also Donny Schmit in the early years.

He was crazy quick on that Jan De Groot Honda in 93 nobody could get too near him. Beast of a rider really. Seem to think that when Everts went to Kawi that too was Jan De Groot? Must have been a good tuner maybe. Think I heard he passed away but maybe ... more »

Yea- I remember that- think it happened quite abit like that for him in SX, he looked abit out of control at times.

edit--- My post above not totally correct .... Seems like though when he won the GP's in 93 on a Honda he beat Everts easy but in 94 on the Zook it was alot closer- funny cos when he won easy on the Honda Everts was on the Zook! Then Alby got on a Zook ... more »

Yes agreed about SX- when he won the GP's back in the day he spanked Everts quite regular- Alby was Suzuki then also-- was surprised he didn't do better in US. Maybe his US bike wasn't as good as the Zook he had in GP's. Always surprised me as he was ... more »

It certainly would be fantastic if he did get over there- God knows if he would win or not, Tomac or any of the others aren't exactly slow! However as said, think both Cairoli and Herlings have Everts lined up in their laser gunsights! ..... Maybe especially

Think it maybe alot about equalling or bettering Everts 10 titles, otherwise who knows maybe he would do US.

Rooting for him to get number 10- what a cool and clinical rider he is. Hope he stays injury free as well as the others.

Thanks KB. Lowered it on my car hoping to get more MPG, thought it maybe was as you said but nice to know for sure.

I feel your pain! Yes- me too would love something like this. Back in the day had a CR500 and a 1988 KX500- sold them for peanuts! ... hindsight

Yea- not sure- I think though the scamming aspect has actually improved(possibly harder to scam nowdays)- or at least with Ebay. Guess the rule is do not send/ post until cash is received and all the other things that may apply.

Added reply in a thread 1994 kx 500 question 11/26/2018 1:24 PM

Just out of interest, did people tune/ port 2T 500's much? I would guess probably not as they had a load anyway- but maybe some did? (Sure way to get into hospital quicker!?) Lovely bikes- I preferred the 80's ones but also these 90's ones are growing ... more »

Curious about the TPS settings, but don't know much. What is the difference between raising or lowering the TPS- does it run richer or leaner and any other points of the effect it has? PawPaw's post above also says is set to lean as standard?

Agreed- I posted earlier and said $4000 in UK but think you more are probably correct in $5000. Those PC pipes and the pipe on Markees bike pictured above (presume the same PC pipe? they look the dogs nuts!)- beautiful angles- I want a KX500 with this

That has to be a good selling point- wouldn't surprise me if it was breathed on if he was ex Team Green and had a stack of stuff in his shop. Someone will bite I reckon... eventually.

Has it any other cool parts/ mods? Looks a nice bike.

Added reply in a thread 1994 kx 500 question 11/25/2018 5:25 PM

That pipe looks lovely and trick- no dents and all is it a pro circuit? In UK reckon that bike would get equivalent of maybe $4000 odd! Not that it is so relevant as older bikes seem cheaper in US.

Its cool you have learnt this stuff so young, impressive- guess your Pops taught you alot. Wish when I was a youngster I had the skill and desire to do the same but I only did basic stuff and let me Dad do the rest (and pay for things!) Credit to you ... more »
