Tom is awesome! He built me a yz315 stroker and ran very well! Good enough for rbsr!
Yes, the later 450F swing arm one you have to modify slightly and shim. In my YZ315 thread I mention how much you have to machine. Works well after the mods!
If you get a set of 2015 or newer YZ250 two stroke clamps it is a direct swap. I have Luxon on mine, but it uses the 2015+ spacing.
They changed the clamps with the restyle in 2015, which is the same as the YZ450F. 2014 and older you have to drill since the hole spacing is a bit off. With the 2015 and newer, the YZ450F fender will bolt right up. YZ450F front number plate works fine
I ran 165 main in Glamis with my 295-315, ran great. I have the 295 paperwork with all specs recommended for the 295. Tom recommends 185 main N3EW #2 55 Pilot 55 PJ When I pushed Tom, we started at 172 main and started going down to 165 with Tevin Tapia ... more »
I replied to your other thread... You can ask Tom, he is very helpful. I had the 295 but then went to 315 stroker, but jetting was pretty much the same. At RedBull Straight Rhythm and testing before hand we ended up with 52 Pilot, 55 PowerJet, N3EW #2 ... more »

Nice man! Can't wait to see how this turns out
That's exactly what Stapes mentioned, and part of the reason I went with the black. Didn't want a gold spring, but it's not so bad. Tom is awesome! Other builders should take notes. Fast and smooth!
Thanks man. Same thing happens to me with motivation. Think we're just running out of things to do
Get some riding in! And late happy Father's day to you as well!
Running out of things I want to do! Need to find gold accents to match rear spring for now
Thanks! Doing well, just busy with work and my little boy. How have you been?
He has both, so he sent a pic of both. He also had just a pic of a shock he built with blue with red spring in the past. I really like the blue, but I already have black dlc in front. Think I'll just go black and never go back. Thanks gents!
That's the problem, can't decide on color. This is what the blue would look like on same color scheme shock he built...
Quick poll, what do you guys prefer for rear shock?
