Great podcast Steve.

mxtech1- It's an interesting conversation, and I'm not mocking you at all because we are just bench racing/designing here. Personally, I would move your decimal point 2 digits to the left on your 99.999999% certainty. The engineering files and software

Maybe standard engineering practices are followed... but 1 out of every 10 (or 20 or whatever) parts doesn't live up to its 'claimed' stress threshold? The modeling is only as good as the consistency of the parts.

Added reply in a thread Can someone send me the 2018 450 SXF graphics design template (eps)? 6/18/2018 3:32 PM

I don't have the template, but I recently bought a Honda template from www.motosportstemplates.com They have the model you are looking for.

Added reply in a thread Dragon Alliance Goggles 6/18/2018 10:22 AM

Dragon NFX for trail riding. The field of view is so wide it's like looking out a picture window. NFXs for racing. It has a narrower field of view than the NFX- better for staying focused on your line. I haven't tried the new MXV yet.

We use Vertex Standard handheld radios that are hardwired to helmet kits from PCI Race Radios. I attached the push-to-talk button near the shoulder cup on my chest protector. So I reach up with my left hand to push the talk button. We just did a Baja

Added reply in a thread Which bars are everyone running? 6/10/2018 6:10 PM

Renthal TwinWall 996, crossbar removed. If I’m going on a long ride where I’ll be standing a lot, I add 6mm spacers under the bar clamps.

Added reply in a thread Marv Boo’d on the Podium 5/26/2018 9:35 PM

I was standing there at the podium. Marv was introduced to the crowd, followed by noticeable “boos”. It was LAME- and clearly showed how immature some of the crowd is.

Added reply in a thread Who could Ping possibly be talking about 5/25/2018 7:13 PM

I’ve read the same comment from Ping a few years ago and I don’t doubt it one bit. The rigorous PED testing has only been in place a few years. I’m sure there are active Pro racers who used the stuff before testing was in place.

Added reply in a thread 2019 CRF450R “Works Edition” 5/24/2018 8:27 PM

That's the X and L, amigo. The 2019 R's and RX's have a gear position sensor (a-la 2009 CRF450R); which should come in handy for terrain-specific engine mapping.

Added reply in a thread 2019 CRF450R “Works Edition” 5/24/2018 8:07 PM

There’s at least one improvement on the ‘19 models that’s not described in the PR, but it should be useful to us (you and I) in our quest for an all-terrain ripper.

Added reply in a thread 2019 CRF450R “Works Edition” 5/23/2018 4:01 PM

I will be surprised if there is a part number for the ported-in-Japan cylinder head. You could borrow one from a Works Edition and have the porting duplicated in a stock cylinder head.

The suspension coatings make the package.
