That's cool: I know Lyle well and saw him at A1 a few years ago. He was a good novice rider at Harry's and won the 1979 World Mini GP at Saddleback, novice class. Many Harry's Cycle riders were in that race and myself included, yet I was not a Harry's ... more »

The story by Bret Smith was good. Can't say I really knew Kyle and Rick, but certainly had great respect for them. Bruce was a cool kid, and always had a lot of fun hanging out with him. He was a good bike rider. I still drive by his house on Barkley ... more »

Can remember Pete for sure! Sorry to hear he's no longer with us... I remember the Macos then, but always considered them secondary to the Japanese bikes. I rememer Staton on the Harley Davidson 250 one year too. That was classic, those bikes were pretty ... more »

Very cool. Was talking about Bruce the other day with Chris down at Ace Mufler. I mentioned watching some of the videos on you tube in 1984-86. No Bruce, No Rick. You see alot of Holand, and Burner and others, and it really makes you think. What whould ... more »

It's a good picture of that first turn. That part of the track looked much different during big events. From no woops to 3 big woops, muddy and hard. Funny you mention the back sections of the park. Those hot summers days, pitted by that big tree near ... more »

Nevada Side: That's pretty cool you rode the last event. Looked like the 125 class? This picture of the starting line is sweet! You can see where they cleaned up the first section off the gate, but they never touched the top and bottom. Do you remember ... more »

Happy Birthday Bruce! Be would have been 45 today. Not sure when Rick kr Kyle were born, I'd like to honor them as well. All these KX80s in the pic are pretty ironic. Bruce won a 79 KX that ultimatley made him much faster. The bike was easy to ride! ... more »

Kehoe, 1979 Ponca City. He owned it. I think Holland beat him in 78, so it was a sweet win in Ponca.

[LINK TO IMAGE] Paul you might remember this section at Saddle Back. You might have even been there the day the R&D boys were attempting to make the DG doubles. I know all of them did make it, but Rick hit his chin really hard on the handle bars ... more »

This is a great picture of Bruce at Saddle Back. He kinda looked that way for the entire time around the track. The type of view from behind was rocks and other debris that the R&D machine was capable of roosting. Tom Corely took ... more »
