No, I didn't see it. To be honest, I just watched the race link for about 5 minutes when I had a chance and the obstacle looked cool when they doubled over it. I hope nobody got hurt.

I'm liking the obstacles on this little track. That middle section where you can go 3-2 up over that very steep final jump can really allow somebody to make up some time. I'd like to see more random stuff like this on supercross tracks.

I like the practice of reserving single digit numbers for national champions, 250 or 450, but I think there needs to be a revision on how career numbers are earned. Almost every number under 30 is now taken. Maybe change the rule so that only the top ... more »

Added reply in a thread Who was at the 1987 Motocross des Nations? 8/26/2019 1:39 PM

I was there. It was the first pro race I ever attended. Got introduced to the Hill People and got exposed to things that no 16-year-old boy should have ever been allowed to witness. Haha, I had the time of my life.

Oh, I remember when those guys skipped the race. Stanton's effort in '89 to get on the team was just an example I was using to say that, while I wish we could always see that kind of desire by our top riders to get on the team, I can understand why they ... more »

Seriously, some people act like Tomac got caught burning his draft card while smoking pot at an anti-war rally. I'm a veteran and I can appreciate a good display of patriotism as much as the next guy. Hell, I miss the days when a guy like Jeff Stanton ... more »

Added reply in a thread An unpopular opinion about MXoN 8/8/2019 1:21 PM

Why is the MXoN my favorite race of the year? Because it's the only race in which I actually have something at stake. Sure, I have favorite riders to root for in Supercross or the outdoor nationals, but I am only cheering for them to do well because ... more »

There's usually one or two posts per day on Vital that make me laugh out loud. This was one of them. :-)

You don't have to be a Roczen fan to love a comeback story. Given what he has been through, I can't imagine anyone not being happy for the dude.

It was a long way back to the top of the podium, but you made it. Well done, young man!

This is an important distinction, and I don't think it's been mentioned in this forum. When I watch an NFL game, the commentators are constantly pointing out things that I either missed or would have never recognized on my own. But I can probably think ... more »

I think Tomac just decided to sign with some other team for next year. :-)

And how tf did BOTH guys in the booth not know that Webb has 6 wins this year and Tomac has 3? I've been drunk for every Supercross race this year and I knew that off the top of my head.

Is this clip from after his practice crash? Are you saying he is back out on the track? I am not able to watch practice right now.

Added reply in a thread Does Cooper Webb = RJ in 1986? 3/31/2019 4:08 PM

I am absolutely not a Webb fanboy. I'd actually like to see Marv win this title. But again, Webb's move to the current dominant team, and his sudden improvement, is an interesting comparison to RJ's move to Honda. It's too early to tell, but we could ... more »

Good points. After the move to Honda, RJ was simply faster than everyone else on most days. My favorite rider, David Bailey, challenged him, and beat him for the 500 title, but it seemed like RJ had a bit more raw speed in 1986. Webb is taking a few ... more »

I hear you. RJ should have had that '82 championship in the 250 outdoors, as well. But let's not forget that Webb was a potential superstar when he came up from the 250 class. What I find interesting here is a top rider's move to a dominant team, and ... more »

Look, I know we're only 3/4 of the way through a Supercross season, but Webb's season so far is reminding me of Rick Johnson's move to Honda. In the early '80s, RJ was one of the top guys, but not " Thee Guy ". He didn't really dominate until 1986, when ... more »
