I used to travel a lot through the USA and beyond. The things you experience varies dramatically depending on where you go. The LEOs typically deal with the dregs of society day in and day out. I suspect they get a bit hardened over time also.

If you have a local ACE Hardware store it's likely they have the helicoil set. ACE is the place. Also, be aware that if the book gives a torque spec for a "dry thread", if you have a lubricant like the oil in there you could actually be over tightening ... more »

How about avoid putting it in the back all together? This is on the back of a Raptor. If you can get your bike on a standard MX stand. Get the 3 1/4" drop so you can open the tailgate.
