Mitch when I switched over to newer front ends I modified the lower tree stops. I did not want to modify the frame but that would have been easier. I kind of totally guessed on how much to remove. My 95 modified ones do not allow my fork tubes to hit

Thanks for the consideration Brian. I am actually quite a way into this restore. I ended up replacing the sub-frame with another used one I had to fix and he also had a used silencer I purchased and restored. Yes the forks were shot. I didn’t even bother ... more »

Having restored a 95 specifically and on my second (92) and hoping to add a 5th (96) in a next few days I can say it’s hugely satisfying to do a restore. But I’m old and I’m fortunate to have several other bikes I can ride while I’m doing this work. ... more »

Kid I have no doubt it has worked for others. At least that is what they said it did. I am looking into Vapor Blasting as an alternative. Hopefully using that can get rid of the debris and discoloring. Polishing out the plastic would be just slightly ... more »

Collins I had the same experience with the salon products. I lathered that crap on and let it sit in the sun. I’m in Ca and we get plenty of sunshine in the summer. I tried skimming it also along with light Dremel work. I tried all the popular tricks ... more »
