Why did they perform so poorly in that mountain bike test while the MIPS helmets performed so much better? I can buy a MIPS helmet for $220 (like this LS2 helmet)...a 6D costs double that (on clearance), Triple at MSRP... Is MIPS only a superior system ... more »

I'd be satisfied with an independent test, where multiple MX helmets were all tested exactly the same way (which I assume was the case with that MTB helmet test). Do you know of any mx helmet tests like that (that weren't commission/performed by a helmet ... more »

Good idea with the 3M foam tape...I hadn’t thought of that.

2018...unless you are a pro rider...that 2018 won’t hold you back at all. Especially if you put $3k back into it to make it the same price as the 20...

My experience is the same... Did you ever find any place to mount a go pro? Only place I could thing of was under the visor (I'm seeing more and more guys doing that)...but havent tried yet....

Just do a spring conversion...that’s the easiest way to fix them. I had TBT in AZ revalve the air forks on my 15 KX450...and set them up for off road...they did a great job on them, and I’d say that in slower rocky terrain they were as good as any fork ... more »

I just bought one...has the MIPS system that I’m seeing in other more well known brands. They are light. The most ventilated helmet I’ve ever owned. My brother has been using one for a couple years and has really liked it.

Thanks for the feedback! After looking at the foam liner...it is definitely compressed above my right eye (where my head hit)...so its definitely new helmet day!

Are there any formal guidelines on when a helmet needs to be replaced? I know some guys that replace their helmet any time their head touches the ground in a crash...and some won’t replace it until the shell cracks. I figure the truth is some place in ... more »

Yes...VA charges an upfront “funding fee” it can be as high as 2.5% depending on how many times you’ve used your benefit and your type of service. It’s automatically added to your loan. No monthly insurance at all.

If you're doing a VA loan...you don't have to have any money down, unless you want too. On a VA loan, if you can get to 5% down, it will save you some money on VA's upfront funding fee (that they just roll into your loan), and you'll finance less money ... more »
