You actually are ordering parts from Yamaha USA. They are a separate company to Yamaha Japan. They will purchase parts/bikes etc from the parent company. That's how the manufactures work all over the world.

Look's like a stock cylinder and head some one has machined. The earlier (78/79) factory RC's had round barrels, looks like that's what they were trying to emulate. Stevie

Honestly, it's really not worth it. Just measure and note down the offset, grab the bolts cutters/grinder (whatever is you weapon of choice!) and cut the hubs out. Powder coat them, then have them rebuilt with new rims and stainless spokes. It will save ... more »

Wiseco offer the option of Chrome bore rings or Nikasil / Iron bore. You ask for them when ordering. Wossner ONLY give you rings for Nikasil / Iron bore. Wiseco include instructions for drilling the exhaust bridge lubrication holes (as posted above by ... more »

Rear will drop straight in. Fronts require a bit more work. You need spacers to sleeve the bearings down. 87's have 17mm axles, the later bikes have 20mm. Rear.

We do the billet versions. They ain't cheap but the quality is exquisite. They fit with original OEM sealing O-rings. The cheap cast versions you have to use one of those Boysen style gaskets.

Yeh, cast/OEM type pistons don't need the holes. It's all to do with the expansion rate of the piston as it heats up, forged pistons require require a different piston/bore clearance when they are plated/rebored aswell. It's really frustrating that instructions ... more »

Did you drill the exhaust bridge lubrication holes in the piston? Wossner don't include instructions on how to do this, Wiseco do. I've seen this quite a few times in my shop. New forged piston, new nikasil, no oil holes... seized in less than 20 mins.
