That basically means he had the cylinder off, no more than what you did when you rebuilt it. From a mechanics point of view I'd tear it down and see what the full extent of the damage is, then see if your still keen on pumping bulk dollars into it.

pretty sure new bikes come with oil in them from factory. And I'm sure that that oil would be suitable for the "break in", unless you drained the oil and put your own in from brand new?

I have a spare set of complete rims from a mates 12' YZ450F, he got new Excel/Talon wheel sets laced up with stainless spoke and nipples, and might i add that the new wheel sets are quiet a bit heavier than OEM rims and hubs, both sets had new Dunlop

Ive tried almost every brand and type of grip and i agree with the added arm pump with the Pillow Tops and the Rebounds, The rebounds have the street creed but not much else. The best ones that I've found for comfort are the Pro Grip 788 triple compound ... more »

Did you powder coat the engine or is it paint? i have a side project at the moment and I'm thinking this might be a good way to minimise on the maintenance a little bit to detract less from my main project once done.

Ive always found the 82 & 83 125's and the 82 - 84 250's a bit quirky because of the rear guard with the side panels incorporated into it, i can only imagine what was said when the 1982 spy photos surfaced… I like the colour of the powder coating ... more »

I did have a bit of a laugh to myself when you said you made the washers for the head nuts in aluminium instead of copper because copper is so damn expensive. Never mind all the titanium, carbon fibre and CNC milling thats going on here! ha haaa! Probably ... more »
