You bring up some valid points, but Dungey’s stiffest competition was Villopoto. Villopoto was 6 for 7 against Dungey, I’ll give Dungey 2010 SX because he was leading Villopoto at round 11 or 12 when Villopoto got hurt. Even if Dungey gets 2012 and 2014 ... more »

When comparing the all time greats of an era you get into the territory of splitting hairs. When comparing Reed to Ricky and James, my knock there is he never won a title against them when they all raced the whole series. He was damn close in 2003, 2006, ... more »

I wonder if Webb pays the C riders to roll through and chew the hell out of these whoops?

I am not saying he didn’t. But his 3 titles were without his stiffest competition racing the full series. Very similar to Dungey, he was always 2nd-4th consistently that could steal a few wins here and there. But not on the same level as Ricky, James, ... more »

I remember the MEC joker lane being highly technical and would love to see them implement that for a race in the future. 20+ laps of that type of section would be very demanding. Wondering if anyone else would like it at an actual supercross

He’s the only guy in the class who has been able to overcome bad starts and get in the top 5 consistently. His average start position is 9.5, I believe he improves that to the 6-7 range by the end of the year. So with that, I think 4th at worst. He has ... more »

Tomac did have a 2-3 second gap on Barcia and backed it down when he realized he wasn't getting Baggett. Tomac had a better pace when he got to Barcia. Both were guilty parties in that situation and played stupid reindeer games that almost got them passed ... more »

Im a big Tomac fan, one of the most frustrating things I have seen over the years is to watch him get stuck behind slower riders for several laps and not get a pass made. After watching the race again, I think he was the guilty party in the Barcia deal. ... more »

Tomac has only had 2 races outside the top ten since 2018 supercross. DNF at Red Bud moto 1 in 2018 and a 12th at Arlington last season. That’s a 70+ moto/race stretch where he has been incredibly consistent. I think it’s safe to say that the idea that ... more »

If my memory serves correct I think Ken Griffey Jr. helped James parents buy the property when he was like 10. I remember James being at a few Reds games when I was a kid.

I pretty much compare this to last years outdoor championship. Him and Kenny are swinging blow for blow early on, but when Tomac needs to win he can go to that next level that I don’t think Ken is interested in going to. He has the bike dialed and seems ... more »

Rewatched the race last night and was surprised no one tried to quad in on the outside option of the split lane. Maybe it wasn’t worth the risk but it seemed to me like they had the speed to pull it off.

I’m sure NBC has tried, at the very least to get him trackside. He went from not being heard from to doing these videos. Maybe the next step is something live at the races.

It’s like fantasy for any other sport. You can predict the outcomes, or write the script the way you want and it’s a way to keep the fan engaged for the whole race even when it’s a runaway.

Fantasy sports is a 7 billion dollar industry. The sooner that SX/MX can get any sort of significant stake in this market the better. People like Pulp and JT pushing this is a good thing, it opens up many other revenue streams and possibly new viewers. ... more »

Went to Thunder Valley, High Point, and Ironman this year. Thunder Valley's viewing was the best and it wasn't close IMO. I would say High Point's viewing was better than Ironman's. The trees hurt a lot of viewing there.
