Do you have access to a CMM at your work ? If so I would check the cylinder in 3 spots with that and see how it compares to your bore gage measurement.

I was not aware that they sold practice tickets, we always pay at the gate and get a wrist band for the day. Is there an advantage to buying practice tickets in advance ? And yes, that track has been closed for a week due to rain.

You can get them free in the pits at any supercross race. Just go to the Dunlop tent, we got a bunch last year in San Diego.

Thank you Thats exactly what it seems like, the bearing housing is so thin and super brittle. One thing I did see is the radiator over flow hose melted against the pipe which basically sealed the vent hose shut from the radiator, not sure if that would ... more »

First thing I checked when this happened at the track, was coolant level, and it was good. The carbon pattern on the piston is what we usually see on this bike, although it is usually darker. It has never gone through coolant, we check it often. Thanks! ... more »

Plug has always looked good, We change that bearing every time we do a top end. The bearing in the pic had 20hrs on it. Thanks

Piston and head are destroyed, a piece of the bearing got on top of the piston and they had a nice fight. Both of them lost :-)

I did not check that, I will verify what the runout is on the new one before we put it back together. I will also check the one we take out.

This was on a brand new crank, Rod and cylinder. Compression is stock, running 927 @32:1 on 91 pump gas. Bike is stock except pipe and silencer. Thanks for the reply. Edit to add, all parts are OEM.

Is this normal ? This is the second time this has happened to us, this one had 20.5 hrs on it. We normally do the top end between 15-19 hours. Bike is a 2017 KX 85 big wheel, 13 yr old novice MX . What do you guys think ?
