Reply to Suspension Rebuild vs Revalve 3/23/2018 4:02 AM

Most suspension shops will advise suspension servicing every 20 hours on your fork and shock to keep them in tip top condition. At the very minimum suspension should be rebuilt every 40 hours or once a year (depending on what comes first) From the sounds ... more »

Reply to Removing Launch Control Button RMZ 3/22/2018 1:01 AM

I've removed mine from my 15 RMZ450 as I didn't feel it made any improvement to my starts what so ever! Remove the tank, then remove the launch control button and wire. Unplug it where it joins to the rest of the loom. I then sealed up the plug end at ... more »

Reply to Is there a difference between cheap and expensive Airfilters 3/9/2018 1:37 AM

Another vote for DT-1 from me. Very good quality filter and very well made. I always use a DT-1 for longer Enduro races, or any track that is notoriously dusty. As above, they seal on the airbox better than any other filter IMO

I found the same when they are new. To speed up the breaking in process and open out the boot a little, I lightly wedged something (i used a trainer placed in sideways, one in each boot) and then left over night. This opened the boot out and took the ... more »

Good work Nino, thanks for reporting. I don't own a CRF250 but it's good to see stuff like this. If more people reported their findings it would give everyone else the chance to make a more informed decision before dumping a load of money only to be ... more »

Not the exact answer you are looking for... but I raced a guy last year who has done what you are looking to do. He managed to fit an Ohlins from a later model CRF (2015 I believe) to his 1989 CR250. He was fast and his bike looked as though it handled

Reply to Showa TAC... I am getting lost. 2/26/2018 5:18 AM

Ah the Showa TAC.... I spent many frustrating days with it on my RMZ450. Sounds to me as if you have something quite serious going on, its normal for the main inner chamber to increase in PSI a little due to heat build up in the fork and temperature ... more »

Good job! Nice going. Glad the camelback tips worked out for you. I'm also new to the Enduro scene, coming from a Motocross background. It definitely takes time to adapt and change your mindset to suit, but keep at it and you will figure it out pretty

Reply to RM 250 Jetting Question 2/23/2018 1:46 PM

Turning in the power valve adds powervalve spring tension, delaying the opening of the powervale, making for a smoother power delivery. So if you want lots of hit, run LESS preload (turn anti clockwise). This is a very good tuning tool and is free. In ... more »

Do both. I mix a 500ml bottle and drink in the morning leading up to race. Then I mix another 500ml bottle, then chuck that and 1 litre of straight water into my 1.5L camelbak, creating a weaker mix. It's worth experimenting to see what works for you. ... more »

Thanks! Almost... the shock lengths are identical. However the area above the upper shock mount is much beefier on the KYB compared to the stock Showa. As a result the KYB just fouled on the upper shock mount, and contacted the tube that the subframe ... more »

Nooo no no. I put the KYB's back in for the photos

They're just too damn pretty to leave off the bike. The KYB's are set up for MX and the stock Showas have been revalved for Enduro. I didn't want to make the RM just an Enduro bike, as its ... more »
