I like how Husqvarna is coming up too. Not long ago neither of them were even a blip on the MX radar. KTM was an offroad machine and Husky was non existent in America.

Get a 2 Smoke. Fun bike, easy to maintain, cheaper to maintain, will do anything a 250F can do unless you are racing pro national or supercross races. I'd have no issues buying a 10 year old 2 stroke as long as I can find parts. I'd never buy a used ... more »

Moto Sport in the US will have a lot of parts, but you will be charged insane duty taxes. I'm sure there a supply in Australia.

I put a 400 ft pound pneumatic impact wrench to all the large nuts remaining.....NOTHING. None of them budged. $20 breaker bar cracked them all though with what I'm sure was WAAAAY less than 400 ft pounds. I'm new to impact wrenches. Not sure why the ... more »

I used propane torch and an impact gun and tried today. The nut did not even budge, and stripped the hell out of it. Guess I have to drill that one. Ugh.

Got my rebuild bike stripped down to just the motor on the frame. The motor mount bolts are on there really solid. I have tugged on them with a socket wrench and they did not budge. I think if I tug too much I will just round them off then really be ... more »

Nothing wrong with a 7 year old bike if you have a set of metric tools, a service manual and some mechanical ability. From what I have seen most of these 250Fs are owned by teens and 20 somethings that abuse the bikes in every way, shape and form. They ... more »

You passed on the last bike because you said you don't know how to change the air filter. This bike needs a new top end at best. I don't think an F bike is for you. You are going to end up just another kid with a blown up motor. Get a CRF230 or something. ... more »

The problem with other OEMs is the bikes already weigh more than the Huskys with e-start. Honda is gonna weight 250 by the time they get e-start.

Buy something cheap and a set of tools. Strip it down to a pile of parts and put it back together. That way you will never have any mechanical questions again. You will KNOW. Like when Bruce Jenner became Caitlin.

Why not? Husky guys have had them. Look at Zach's ride...no kicker. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AuNYflzEsE

Powder coating requires the part go in a 400* F oven for 20 minutes. I wonder if that affected the hardening and strength of the aluminum frame?

One thing is for sure. I never really knew anything about extracting stripped bolts before yesterday. Cant say I have ever done it in my life. Now I am professional at it. Now I know why it was beat to crap. Nobody could work on it cause every bolt that ... more »

Not sure yet. First thought was make it look stock again. But looking at pics of others, it kinda looks dated. I may do the McGrath look but not worry about details. Main focus will to make it physically look new as possible. I started tearing it down, ... more »

I have been watching MX videos recently and wanted a new bike just to play ride on the track, get some exercise, etc. I have not owned one since 1999. My last bike was a 97 CR250R-AVR (Aluminum Vibrating Rocket). Picked this up today. I was about to
