Yeah, usually it's not necessary. But sometimes if a race has a lot going on, and they switch to a mid-pack battle, it can be a little confusing to figure who they are covering. But I wouldn't mine if they just eliminated it altogether.
Completely harmless. My friends and I used to roost each other all the time when we were kids. It was especially fun to do it in mud puddles.

Are you only looking for tracks? If you want to ride trails, there's always Pozo: https://www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/lpnf/recarea/?recid=11149
I can't find any details to verify it, but I think a hospital just gets 20% extra for a patient with COVID. If that patient dies, there is no additional financial incentive for the hospital to claim that the patient died FROM COVID. Simply being COVID ... more »
Oh, the tear off actually adheres to the gasket? I was imagining a silicone surface on the gasket that created a seal with the tear off. But actually adhering the tear off makes more sense.

I know we hear about sketchy cases of COVID death attributions. There will always be exceptions. But, generally, physicians are supposed to consider COVID the cause of death only when the COVID likely caused the the respiratory distress that led to death. ... more »
No velcro with the Extang model. It is held down by clamps.
