For someone I never met in person, I considered Joe a dear friend. I "met" him many years ago, most likely through one of the many websites/forums that preceded Vital. We bought and sold parts between us, we exchanged countless emails, and he inspired ... more »

Ping, from my POV, the issues with sending in a video is multi pronged.
1) For some, it is a technology issue.
2) For others, speaking into a camera is not easy and constantly having to reshoot is a PIA
3) Not everyone is as pretty as a Ping. And a camera is not always the friend of the ugly.
Me, I do get tongued tied on camera, I am old and butt ugly, but mostly, I like to read and reread and edit my words to make sure I am understood.
My mom says hello.

It amazes me that you are able to teleport yourself into both of their bodies so you can be so cock sure of your position. What is Kenny & Dylan doing right now?

DC, I believe that the pic you posted does not represent what one actually sees while racing and what I saw on TV live. It is perhaps 100/ sec at best?? I saw the flag in the corner before the jump waving frantically. I was in disbelief that someone ... more »

Had bilateral knee replacement surgery in 2017 and it is the best and worse thing in my particular case. Yes the constant pain (similar to being married) is gone. But my doctor was a bit of a hack and I have had post surgery issues unlike many of my fellow replacement friends. So, it took years to get to just riding shape, not racing, and last February when I was finally able to join a gym to really finish the last step and regain muscle strength, WW pandemic hit. Would I do it again? Absolutely, but knowing what I know now, I would use a different doctor and I would only do one knee and wait a year and then do the other. I actually had 5 weeks between surgeries and that last week I was running around like a little monkey. I think I would have recovered faster and seen any pitfalls that I saw too late.
As far as Herlings having trouble with Eli, Zack or Paul Webb, after two nationals Ping got 3 out four wrong.

I had a knee replacement in 2018 at 61 years old. I am old, slow and fat. I hit the ground very hard 3 time since. One time at Glen Helen I fell with direct impact straight onto my bended knee and all I had was knee pads. It hurt a little bit for a couple days. Maybe my slowness helps but I've...more

It's not. It's related to the "advice for riders with bad knees" segment in this @Ping.

Already spoke to mike about it. He’s coming out in the fall for the vet nationals and we will record then.

You have it exactly right. He's a close friend and has grown into a real leader. He cares deeply for family and friends, and he will always give signed goggles and gear to kids that approach him here in N. Florida and S. Georgia.

Someone did not read the post that started this thread back up today. Ford claims in video, starting under 20K.

Mike, what are the two parts you have not located? And it is funny to me that even HRC did not go as far as you did on their race bike builds.

Zooki- Youre a special one. what I was referring to is how neck braces almost made me crash... twice. By keeping my head forward instead of allowing me to get my butt back and look upwards with my head (where the eyes/head goes, the body follows) I was almost...more

I don't agree that you can take a limp dummy with zero muscle tone and produce results that mimic an actual human, particularly when each crash is different and infinitely dynamic. You can measure impact force, think crash test dummies in autos, but there is...more
