Heat the basket back up in an oven or equivalent... gear should fall out with a light tap... then freeze the gear and heat the basket It will drop right in...

When I ran into the problem... sometimes the bike would start, sometimes it would just pop and never start... I found it when I got the bike to fire again... I just sat there moving the wiring harness/connectors around until it stalled...

Ran into a Very similar problem on this exact model during a rebuild... one of the pins in the connector from the stator assembly to the main harness backed out of the connector... symptoms were very similar to what you are describing... worth a look ... more »

Basically, OP if you don’t have the correct tooling to measure runout... don’t use a screwdriver as “.005” is an absurd amount of runout in a single crank (any pressed crank honestly)... just take it to a machine shop they’ll be able to check it in a ... more »

If you have a core have it rebuilt with an OEM or equivalent rod (Pro-x, Wossner, etc) I’d recommend Crankworks they do great work (sometimes they even have rebuilt cranks for sale)... If not, I’ve run plenty of hot rods cranks (in stock applications) ... more »

I’ve always used wheel acid to clean raw pipes, and just coat/ wipe them with wd-40 after washing/ riding to prevent surface rust...

Two methods to use in combination... assemble the head using some light dummy springs... install on the engine without a head gasket, set cam timing...then place a dial indicator on top of the valve bucket and rotate the engine around... as you rotate ... more »

If the timing marks are on I would suggest a Possible spun Cam Gear... Stock cam and valves? also is the piston in the correct direction (not doubting your abilities just eliminating possibilities)...

ProX makes great products... I’ve seen wiseco cranks fail too many times to ever recommend them as a product... From big end bearings failing in a matter of hours, to wrist pin bushing failures, to rods breaking... I’m not sure what the issue is... but ... more »

I agree with this as well snap gauges are good for getting a rough measurement... not very accurate when getting down into the ten thousandths...

Not trying to be negative but take the wiseco crank and replace it with a better crank preferably an oem unit ( new or rebuilt) or even a hot rods assembly ... not too many tips other than get The correct flywheel puller, and a case splitter...

Measure in several different locations... one location of the bore won’t tell you the true shape of your bore... I take 3 initial measurements top, middle (This measurement can be hard on two strokes because of the transfer ports) and bottom; Then 3 ... more »

Wossner makes an excellent rod... trueness is more important than balance... However, if you have the spare money or time you can change the balance factor... I wouldn’t necessarily say you will see a reduction in vibration, but rather a change in the ... more »

Little confused here as the coil has both primary and secondary windings... if you tested the coil per procedure in the manual and it was within spec I’d suggest your problem lies elsewhere... start simple disconnect the kill switch... then proceed to ... more »
