That’s the ignition timing Mark for checking base timing...

I have this same bike mechanical timing is definitely set at tdc... and as far as your stator I don’t think it matters it can be rotated any direction and still produce current...

Added reply in a thread KTM Jetting App Question 5/7/2021 7:35 PM

Never used it.. and I don’t know how much I’d trust an app to jet my bike... but Id imagine if you move the slider to the richer or leaner side of one of the throttle positions it’s going going to tell you what jetting/slide/ needle position/ or air ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2009 ktm xcfw cams won’t line up at top dead center after top end rebuild 4/21/2021 3:44 PM

Did you use the lock bolt for the crank to set tdc? If so I’d verify your at true tdc with a dial indicator... or at least something you can insert down the spark plug hole and attempt to eyeball tdc (not the best method but you can come close enough ... more »

That’s the correct schematic yes... Unfortunately, some regulators can be bench tested some cannot it depends on the design of the regulator (I’m not familiar with Kawasaki’s design)... do a quick search on Google there’s plenty of in depth articles ... more »

Added reply in a thread ProX piston size Yz250? 4/19/2021 5:56 PM

If you’re having it plated you need to measure nothing send it with an A piston; this gives you options as the cylinder wears... They request you send your cylinder with a piston so that the correct piston to wall clearance can be achieved... advertised ... more »

Chase the schematic; by installing a battery into the circuit in place of the capacitor you eliminate both the stator and voltage regulator/rectifier from the circuit...the 9v while running would lead me to believe it’s either a faulty stator (just because

I didn’t see your prior post on the pilot jet... it’s possible it was just that lean (I see you’re in Cleveland which is close to sea level and I’m assuming fairly cold at the moment which would both attribute to a richer jetting requirement... just ... more »

Take an adjustable power supply or any dc source you can regulate down to 5 volts ( I made a portable one out of a 9v battery and a cheap adjustable buck module) hook the positive to the input leg (blue wire) on your tps and the negative feed to the ... more »

No way you can eyeball the tps adjustment by lining the mark back up it’s too fine of an adjustment... you should see resistance (ohms) across the yellow to black wire as well if not either you’re on the wrong scale (should be 20k if you want to check ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2006 yz250f tps removed Help re installing 4/18/2021 10:21 AM

You need a 5v reference input into the tps to set it to the desired voltage... you can do this with an external power supply connected to the tps with the bike off or with bike running at idle and a piggyback harness that allows you to read the output ... more »

Added reply in a thread Testing ignition pulse output- KTM 250 SXF 1/31/2021 9:07 AM

Like I mentioned above you need to measure actual peak voltage coming from the stator... a low reading could indicated a bad stator, or a rotor/ flywheel that’s become weak (which is rare)... you can also measure output voltage from the pulse coil but ... more »
