Great job on the build👍🏼👍🏼 Will you put it on the track or is it just a show piece?

Ron Lechien. Heard story's of him tell his dad he was going jogging, turn the corner and light up a big fat one, spray some water on his shirt to look like he was sweating and walk home. Wake up in the morning and smoke check everybody on a race day. ... more »

I also have been looking for some info on setting up a TM34 on this 82. From what I was told once you find the right needle for your motor they are pretty decent carbs. I think the VM and TM uses the same common needle and will inter change. If anyone ... more »

The 03-05 KX125's were also very strong motors. Some even say more top but a little less bottom end then the YZ. Why did they run so strong, well the cylinders were pretty much YZ clones, even down to the power valve design.

96 Honda CR250 or a 97-98 KX250. Both 2 different styles of power. The Honda was king in mid to top and over rev and the KX was king in low to mid. They had a lot of good bikes in the 90's and I'm sure you will get a lot of different opinions. Yamaha ... more »

Everything adjusted correct and after the first time I rode it I installed the longer Hammer Head shifter which helped a lot to give your foot some more room. I think it helped a little bit in shifting but still not smooth as it should be I feel. I’m ... more »

I was told by a couple people to remove the judder spring and the smaller fiber that goes around the judder spring with a normal size fiber and that should help it shift better. I will definitely try this because it sucks riding the bike like it is. ... more »

Thanks, I had talked to someone about the clutch possibly being a issue with it not shifting well at WOT and yes it does have the judder spring. Same here, don't know why they use a judder spring. My 14 had the judder spring and wasn't this hard to shift ... more »

If you want some more mid power shim the governor spring 3mm to open the power valve about 500-700 RPM’s later. That was a tip from Nino I tried and worked pretty good. It’s pretty much a free mod to try. On my 07 I also added the STIC metering block ... more »

You got that right. Ron was one of the best engine builders out there and a great guy. His knowledge with cylinder head improvements and camshaft profiles were well above most engine builders. He will be missed.

CarlinoJoe, I picked up a 20 and after the mods you did do you feel it would pull the stock gearing better? Another thing my 20 doesn't shift near as good as my 14 at WOT, do you guys notice this on the 19? It can be aggravating at times.

Started new thread 2020 Honda crf250r reviews 11/18/2019 4:29 AM

I pick up a 2020 and the bike has a lot of good points about it. The motor is pretty strong mid and top, like the test report it does lack some low end torque but its so low in the curve you don't even notice it unless your riding that low in the curve. ... more »
