For just a a general riding plug check it looks ok. Insulator color looked a little odd is why I asked about the fuel. A true "plug chop" is as Truckdriver suggested and it's only good for the main jet.

Thank you Billy. That's what I was looking for. I came real close to PM'ing you on this one, because I knew you would know. I did go ahead and anti-seize and torque them, but I only backed off about 30%. I'll retorque them to 40% less. Thanks again.

What do you do with Ti linkage bolts, loctite them or anti-seize them? Torque them to OE spec?

OEM all the way, but if you are on a budget go Pro-X. Had good results so far with the Pro-X cranks. Hot Rods are very questionable.

Yes, the head needs work. I think you're on the right track with it. In theory about .025" should be a doable number with about 7cc volume and you obviously got away with it, but my practical side wants to say it's a little tight. By my calculation .030" ... more »

It looks to me like you just have some "ashing" of the oil from the hotter plug and added compression and that shows with the much different piston top after going back to the stock head and plug. I think the real bog problem with the 65 is the power ... more »

You need to dump the oil to do this right. You need to remove the cartridge and springs. Dump the oil and turn the tubes upside down and fully extend them to remove all the oil from the area between the two tubes. Then fully compress the cartridge and ... more »

" I assumed it’s plug/compression related. " You nailed when when you said that. You don't need the 8 plug for sure and I'm amazed that you got away with 1cc less volume in the head. "I decided to re cut the original head and open the dome the approximate ... more »

Yes, the older ones are flat tops and the heads are roughly 3cc smaller than the later domed piston heads.

I normally just say get the 143.5 link, so I thought I'd give a little more explanation as to why. I didn't document any of this, so it's from memory of something I did back in 2015. I also race XC, so if you are a moto guy you may like a slightly longer ... more »

Yeah, you're good. It's hard to measure. I even made some pointed centers to fit the links for improved measurement and still felt like I wasn't sure if I was within half a mm. I'm just quoting PC there. Sort of like the F bar clamp centers. I've seen ... more »
