I don't have anything to braze with, so I'll just keep shooting weld at it and grinding. For full disclosure, I'm not sure that I can make this pipe look how I want, but I'll know afterward
ADB is still around. They offer some nice bits, I'll ...

Is that dirt inside the crankcase? Overall it looks great, but inside the motor looks like poo!
I spent a few hours welding and grinding. I underestimated the amount of work this thing would take. At this point all the cracks are sealed and the dents are basically all removed. I filled the dents that I couldn't remove with weld and ground it out

The freezer pushed this dent out almost all the way. But I'm going to have to weld it up a bit after the pipe split. At least the split gave me an access point to push the dent out further.
I got to this point after several hours ...

The silencer was bugging me. In the first video you can see the can was pointing up at the fender (actually into the fender). Once I got the side plate removed you could see it was bent badly at the inlet. All it took was unbolting the silencer mount,

I wanted to play with something a little more obscure and figured an ATK would do the trick. As a 10 year old kid I remember thinking these bikes were the answer to a question nobody was asking. They looked weird...and not in a good way. As time has ... more »

A little over a year since the last vid. I've got 5.8 hours on the bike now. I haven't really ridden it other than booting around the yard, riding around the pond down the street, and taking my girls on rides. I discovered that my hot start and cold

I stumbled across these Answer TX-10 gloves from around 1990 in the garage. I was 12 and had an XR100 and aside from a brain bucket I had zero gear. After a few weeks of woods riding with my friends (KDX 80 and a YZ 80) my hands were chewed to pieces.

Good luck, I had a 2001 that I enjoyed for many years. The only reason I sold it was it had a tendency to stall when doing really slow, technical woods riding (hoping logs) and I chalked it up to the engine just not lending itself well to what I was

I would go with a br8eg or if you have a couple more bucks a br8eix. Then start leaning it out before giving up. I had a 96 that ran a much leaner pilot with the stock carb
Don't be afraid to keep leaning the pilot, you won't blow anything up trying to cure an off idle issue. Also what plug are you using?

What media would you recommend for tumbling?
Just checking for anyone who has purchased a basket case engine, that has been rusted over from undesirable storage (usually in a bucket or egg crate). I was eyeing up an early 80's bike that is fairly complete, rolling chassis, but the engine is in ... more »

I would try to crack a joke, but then I would get an angry look, "Don't...make...me...laugh..." It was excruciating to watch.

Buddy of mine is pretty average "tough" and build. He broke 4 ribs in at age 39 and it hurt so bad that every time he would exhale he would drop an F-bomb..for about a week. He was in so much pain at the hospital that they didn't even realize his ankle ... more »
That is where the cam bearing sits. I'm pretty sure that part is not even spinning. Its just a mark from being clamped in place.
Thanks. Its is UFO "Flo Red."
