I think it looks fine, albeit the tail section looks like a CRF or KXF now.

I honestly don't know sales figures, but you can't just put it all on the consumer. A lot of things were happening in 2005. The big class was finally moving full bore to the thumpers. Suzuki was rushing to come out with a 450F, Kawasaki still hadn't ... more »

What is funny is yes, the OEM's want to sell dirtbikes, but they don't want to sell two strokes. And if they have to pull out of racing to keep from doing so, I think it's likely (especially Honda). They are fully invested in the thumpers, and more two ... more »

If both bikes were allowed to race, I do agree that a 250F would wax a 250T straight up. But that won't be the last word on the subject. Remember, how long it took the thumper to dominate in the big class? Henry won in 1997 on the "revolutionary" new

It made more like 49HP, about what they make now (after all that R&D). But like I said earlier, if DV12's dad can make a stock (2010?) YZ250 go from 45HP to 53HP, surely KTM could improve on that number. .

Mike Landman is still off base with this "A stock 250 four-stroke out of the box, is anywhere from 35, 36 to 38hp and a stock 250 two-stroke is 8-10 more horses than that. It is possible to get a 250 four-stroke to about 40 or 41hp but you can increase ... more »

That is awesome! I wondered if Mitch was making over 50HP or not. A few years ago DV12's dad was getting 54HP out of a YZ250 (the same motor for 2014). That was the bike Cedric was supposed to race in the states. And I'm sure it cost a hell of a lot

Agree 100%. I think he's frustrated mentally and needs to clear his head out. I also think that if he put together a less serious ride, with less pressure, he would perform better than people expected.

Because they are stubborn. They steered the AMA into this mess we are currently living in. And the big four have put all of their chips on the table for four strokes. There is no going back without the word "bankruptsy" being involved. Better to just ... more »

Even the KTM 250SX is this way. Not as roomy, but WAY less cluttered than a thumper.

If you understood simplicity of design, you would realize that in 2012, Husqvarna produced bigger engines than a 125. Some of those engines were much taller. It wouldn't be simple or cheap to produce a 125 specific frame and body work. On a side note, ... more »

BIkes come and go, gotta do what you gotta do. The only one that still hurts almost 10 years later was selling a minty TL1000S in order to buy a wedding ring. Damn I loved that bike.

You could always try. Around here I think you would have to take between $2000-$2500. The non oem stuff is killing it and the aftermarket stuff isn't doing enough for it to recover.

It's called "rhythm" for a reason, because you have to nail everything perfectly. I can't imagine a Honda motor in a RMZ and little time on the machine can compare to someone like Dungey who's had a lot of seat time on his bike now. At least I would ... more »

Yeah but the yzm looked similar to the 05 version. That cr frame looks like it would have worked so much better than the 97 version. Wonder how that came to be.
