Never too late, I would love to see some scans of that 4054 manual. I've got the screenshots of the French article and my translation as word documents. I'll have to email them to you, so feel free to send a PM. Micah

Ordered some parts. This was an entire engine seal kit that I was told would work for the RM500. If you look close you can read the numbers on the seals. Hopefully it helps someone else.

Also ordered some levers. Able to reuse the brake perch. ... more »

Sure looks like it makes plenty of power. Nice job!

The gas tank had several layers of spray paint on the bottom...I found black, yellow, red, and white. I think at one point the whole tank was bombed out in paint. I used paint stipper to help get it off.

For the top side of the tank I wet sanded ... more »

Yep. The XR is worth that price. Offload it and end up with free trailer and CR125. BTW, sounds like a non-moto guy who acquired them.

Thanks JMCR...a big motivator for me is to keep costs reasonable on these bikes. If you stick with somewhat of a budget it forces you to really think about what you "need" vs. what you "want." Having said that, I've gotten nickel and dimed a bit on this ... more »

Front brake drum cleaned up and installed (original paint, I didn't touch it up), new DC plastic chain slider, found some decent used Renthal 7/8ths bars laying around. Figuring out the gas tank spacing, seat and rear fender fitment.

Can someone shed light into why Kawi had a seat that appeared to not fit the gas tank on these bikes? I've never understood whey the seat just extends up to the gas cap and defies the contours of the tank.

Looks good! Something to consider....peel those shroud graphics back a bit and snip the FX tags. Some of those repopped FX graphics place the logo inside the graphic, but the RM versions are easy to cut off and presto - OEM look.

Found the spacer. It is loose like wizards sleeve in the seal. Found a seal on ebay for $15 shipped. Got brake drum cleaned, rear end mocked up and shock installed. Moving along again.

Long time no update. I ended up breaking my shoulder blade end of May, so for a couple months I wasn't really motivated to do anything. The other two months I just didn't have time. This weekend I got to the swingarm and welded up the buggered area up

In 2021, I would not qualify "holding your ground" or standing up for what you believe as warranting positive feedback. There is a certain level of courage that underlines all of these actions, which is admirable, but have you seen what people believe

Agreed, he has a great knack at dissecting technique. Fro just doesn't bring that to the table. I also loved all the pot-shots that GL would drop....the "Shlong Shot" for instance...OMG I was rolling on that one.

Emig isn't bad, but GL was great to listen to. Can't say anything positive about his stance, but I did enjoy him in the booth.

Im not dissing the air forks on the ktm as being bad. In fact I hear they are good. But the sss on the yz is better imo. And I work on my own stuff and have no desire to work on the air forks.
