I won't take the risk to get the squish so tight. The fuel is different over here so are the weather conditions. The bike runs very well now, Rode it yesterday with the long(enduro) HGS silencer, performs the same as the OEM silencer from what I can

Thanks! The 94db silencer is the shortest one on the picture, HGS makes a standard, shorter silencer also (see picture)

The longest silencer on the picture is an enduro silencer with the same length as an OEM one the longest silencer is not ... more »

Had the bike on the dyno this week. The exact numbers are following later, don't have the prints now. The bike made a nice linear curve with just the OEM head milled and the stock pipe on, way better than my previous bike. The VHM head had more overrev

I live in Belgium, the elevation and the fuel here is is a lot different of what you have over there. I use E5(super 98) fuel. I think 1.5mm squish is safe for a 250 2stroke(they use 0.9mm squish on 125's), VHM will have tested this and think they know

Drilled 2 holes in the piston to lubricate the exhaust bridges and measured the cylinder and piston. There is an A stamped on the cylinder but it measures 66.42mm so that's C. Will be riding with the OEM piston for 10 hours then replace it with the right

Very nice build! You could change the chain guide a bit to look more 'modern' like the newer models. I did this on my yz250 2007 Or a acerbis or TM design chain guide also looks a bit better IMO but the OEM one last longer than the acerbis

you'll have to re-drill the holes just like when you buy a restyle kit for the older bikes

Maybe in the US but that method doesn't work in Europe, The 10th digit of my bike is a 0 but its a 2007.

10 years ago I had a YZ125 2001 with orange accents, I bought the bike like that but I liked it.

the graphics on the fork covers on my bike are also for the newer model but I adjusted them a bit to fit on the older model of the fork covers. As you can see there is a bit more white from the plastic on the underside.

Added reply in a thread YZ250 10year refresh???? 12/3/2018 9:38 AM

the graphics for the fork covers wil also fit on the covers that are on your bike, they are the newer model(2008 and up) but they are not the ones that should be on your bike, do all the 3 bolts in the covers fit your fork lugs?

Added reply in a thread YZ250 10year refresh???? 12/3/2018 8:22 AM

it's not always right to check the year by the 10th digit, 2008 had wave rotors, newer fork lugs and upper tubes, smaller front brake caliper, other model of front brake master cylinder, smaller rear chain guide,... If you buy a graphic set, buy a 2015
