Reply to How bad was the 04 RMZ/KX 250f really ? 12/14/2013 3:36 PM

Had a couple 04 RMz's. The early models had a "swelling cam" problem. When the bike got hot the cam lobe would swell and it was nearly impossible to restart. After figuring this out and updating the cams, they were great.

jtomasik, That is a fun sand area to ride. A few different tracks and plenty of fun riding. There is also a very fine silty sand track a little closer to Denver in Keenesburg that is a blast. I must agree with many of the other posts about Red Bud, Milleville, ... more »

Bummer, UGMX was my favorite Texas track. Was planning on going there this January. Well, I guess I'll have to go to one of the many other awesome tracks in Texas. Good luck Randy and Whitney in your future endeavors.

I'm a Fox guy, and I love the new version Instincts. 5 year warranty on the soles, great support and half a lap break in. btw CamP, I raced with Clay a bunch in 1983. He's definitely one of the fast guys. Glad to see he is still racing.

We have a local winter series here in Colorado Springs that runs a ten race schedule. It has 20 minute moto's for all classes. I raced one a couple weeks ago and was too tired to do the second moto.

Reply to Has anyone tried these Emig lock-on grips yet? 12/2/2013 4:06 PM

I have tried them. They do everything they say they will do. However, I could not get used to the left grip being the same diameter as the right, so I put stock ones back on.

My wife and I went to Bercy and had a great time. It is all you said in your article. However, you left out the vacation factor for us non Euros. We also got to enjoy visiting other countries and experiencing different cultures.

Suzuki has a good program here in Colorado. I have had no problem getting paid all season long. I also raced an event in Texas at the 13' Texas Winter Series in Freestone and had no problem getting paid.

My son and I went to a race in Atmore a couple years ago. I believe there were around 80-90 sign ups. We had a great time. The track was fun, the people were friendly and the promoter was very hospitable. I believe he is/was the owner of Mill Creek. ... more »

Hey mtl, From my experience, the track gets pretty rough. If you are in great shape and have leather hands you may survive 3 classes. Otherwise, 2 classes should suffice. Good luck and have fun!

You are correct, it did suck trying to get going after that carnage. I ended up going backward down to a less steep part of the hill. What made it worse was that I had a broken wrist at the time. Ah, the good ole days.

Wow! Mr. Boyer set me up with an M. Robert sponsorship back in 1983. I really loved the "chrome" (silver) pants they had. The boots left a lot to be desired though. In a big crash they would come right off your foot. Thanks tblazier for the great memories, ... more »
