My wife looked at me confused, and asked me why they had to explain starting blocks. I just shrugged and commented on how those are fancier than the 4x4 pieces of wood we use. I guess we're rednecks.
I’ve had a 16 250sx and that bike was a bit of a handful. I replaced it with a 350 which is much easier to ride though every bit as powerful. Given what you described though, I think I’d stay away from the 350. It has less torque then your crf450 but ... more »
Good point. I spit my drink out laughing when I read that!
I'm less critical of it than my kid - he finds Ricky intolerable while I just make light of his gaffes. I find that he has a penchant for redundancy. He says things like "learning lesson" and "mental confidence". Of course, "learning" is implied by "lesson" ... more »
I had an 06 125 and it was a great bike. I know guys who have had them for years and they’re practically indestructible. I’m getting a 144 this spring. My buddy is a dealer and getting parts is a piece of cake. As far as aftermarket goodies, the TM has ... more »
Just sold my 250F and have a TM 144 on its way from Italy. My other bike is a 350. Having a small bore 2 stroke and a 4 stroke seems like it should be a nice combo!
No source is infallible, but the hate here for MXA from some is really something. Any new bike I ride, I look to MXA's suspension setup advice to get it in the ballpark and have found them to be quite useful. They were supposedly biased towards Honda ... more »
The guy can just flat out race. He knows what line to take when he needs to make a pass, what line to take to not get passed, he's smooth and consistent with few mistakes, and his fitness lets him finish strong. He can have Tomac on him for lap after ... more »
Things would be much safer if they could just all agree that some of them should hang back on the start and let others through the first turn first. Once it's safe to go, the ones in the back can proceed in a safe, orderly fashion. It's all this "racing' ... more »
Exactly this. There are an awful lot of posts here that present it as a choice between what they have now or some outlandishly stupid option (e.g. alligators, flat tracks....). But surely those aren't the choices.
Feels like I’ve entered the twilight zone.
So, when does the argument about whether "false neutrals" exist start?
I'm sure they're a cash cow for Yamaha but that doesn't mean that they are passing that profit on to the dealers. Dealer margin and manufacturers margin may be very different.
Didn't watch race day live but the quality was good for the night show. In Canada. I watched a replay after it was over when my kid got home from work - don't know if it makes any difference to watch a replay vs live.
Johnny O'Mara.
Once bought a DRZ 400 for 3,000 and sold it about 6 months later for 3,400. Just polished it up nicely and sold it within an hour of putting it up for sale.
Yes Your Honor, my client committed this murder, but why aren’t we talking about THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE HE HASN’T KILLED?
I'm sorry for your loss. I'm constantly taken aback by the idiotic insensitivity from those who flippantly downplay or joke about Covid when they know (or should know, if not for willful ignorance) that some of the people reading what they say will have ... more »
That's a fair point - "vaccine" might not be the best term for it. I take it what we are ultimately concerned with is illness, so if it prevents that, that's a step in the right direction. They haven't actually said that it doesn't prevent transmission, ... more »
You can not stop a virus? Really? Did smallpox and polio “run their course” or did we stop them with a vaccine? This isn’t a flu, and we may be able to reduce the number of deaths until the vaccine can be widely administered. I’m not saying I know which ... more »
