The gear issue was fixed on the 2020 models, so good to go here. It's still plastic, but I actually prefer plastic for something like this. It doesn't need to be crazy strong, it has less friction than a steel or aluminum gear, and it's lighter. Plastic ... more »

No big plans for motor work, really. Had I wanted more power, I'd just buy a 450! The 350 is perfect for the Vet pro practice rider who occasionally gets talked into racing, e.g., me, and I don't see a need for more power. But I do see a need for weight

We've had this build going for a while, I just haven't had a chance to get a post going yet, but here we go! First of all, the 150SX build is still happening, it's just been a little slower than I'd hoped. This build will go a lot faster as we're not

Added reply in a thread Steering bearings. - balls, not tapered 6/27/2021 9:34 AM

Is that torque for the locknut (top nut) or for the adjuster spanner nut? If for the top nut, that makes sense. If for the spanner, then ignore that and adjust it appropriately to preload the bearings to your preference. There's no reason to put a torque ... more »

Looks like the top clamp was anodized, stripped (poorly), and re-anodized. Hard to say without seeing it in person, but either way, it's ugly and you should take it back.

Did you ask why it won't work? I'm nearly certain they're the same. Can you just get the one from your buddy and compare the two?

That should work!

The Neken clamps on the Star bikes are 3/4 pound lighter than the stock clamps (but not as light as ours!):

Added reply in a thread Rubber Mounted KTM Bar Mounts - How to get them straight? 5/25/2021 11:41 AM

That's true, but the YZ250 also hasn't seen a design update (to the bars/clamps) in 15 years either. If you can handle the vibration from the solid cones, then you're good to go and it's a cheap fix. A lot of people don't like it, though. The Mako mounts ... more »

If you've loosened everything and tightened it all back up but they're still crooked, then you probably bent them. It's not all that unlikely with the Ride design. Here's a lot more info on the problem: https://www.luxonmx.com/blog-luxon-bar-mount-fix-ktm-husqvarna-twisting.html ... more »

We have a special tool to do it. If you ship them to us, we'll take them apart, have the anodize stripped, and re-anodize in the same batch as your lowers.

What are you offering the companies in return? It seems like everyone is doing a bike "build" these days, and everyone wants something for free. But to get things for free, you need a solid marketing plan. Will the build be featured in a magazine? In ... more »

Go find an artificial grass place and ask if they have any remnants. I picked up a nice 10x15 piece for $100 and they had a bunch to choose from.

Added reply in a thread Pro circuit out of stock? 3/26/2021 9:44 AM

It depends on the part. Anodize is great for appearance, but also adds a very hard and scratch resistant layer, and can add lubricity needed in some applications. As a general rule, we don't ship anything without anodize; only in special circumstances. ... more »
