bought a used 99 CR some time ago. cylinder was in much better condition than the head and power valve assembly. after analyzing part numbers, I found out that the previous owner replaced the cylinder with a 96 one. fits the description from these, as

I would go with the CRF kick-start lever! it's about 100 grams/3.5oz lighter and offers better grip, especially under wet conditions.

destry,s 500 is one of my all time favorite bikes... It seems like it was already to much r&d needed (Balancer shaft, massive head stays etc. back when they introduced the aluminum frame) to bring them in series, plus the down trend on 2stroke development ... more »
