It was really rocky up the top. Jeffrey Herlings was involved in the decision and explained it all in our post-race pod, which should be up shortly.

It was. I'd say the Ai is better than MXGP 3, but obviously not competitive. I feel like we're just never going to get that though.

You know what, I have been asking that question since October and not really got anywhere with it. I'll keep asking.

Here's what I have figured out about the Ai. They do not actually struggle to get around the track, they just cannot function alongside each other. In every single race I have done there is one Ai that gets a good start, breaks free and is kind of okay.

Here's our (MX Vice) first gameplay. Separate brakes, regular physics (best option), manual shifting and all of that. We tried to do different lines through the sections each lap, just to show it can be done. https://youtu.be/o8n1ofep91g

Yeah. The first time I went through a rhythm, I immediately thought that it looked like a different game (compared to the videos we have seen). It's effectively the worst possible way to publicise a game.

So... When you first load the game you get put into a race at Anaheim 2 with basic physics, automatic shifting and all that. That's basically what you have seen in the other gameplay videos. Once I got into my own race, with regular physics/manual shifting, ... more »

I have good news! After explaining to Milestone's guys in the UK that the gameplay videos haven't done the game any justice, they have given us (MX Vice) early access. I've done four races and, trust me, those Team VVV videos are nothing like the real ... more »

Thanks for sharing and for the positive comments! Yeah, Jeremy was really honest. It wasn't the first time I had heard that from him. I interviewed him at the last MXGP round and he kind of implied the same sort of stuff.

A review-style podcast that goes for a few hours is definitely in my (MX Vice) plans for the very near future. I hoped it would be this year, but a few things didn't work out as expected and I want to start with a bang. In a way it's a good thing though, ... more »

Thanks for sharing the interview. It's awesome to read all the good comments! Herlings has always been great to me, even when I interviewed him for the first time.

I'm not a fan of sharing my own work on here, but I thought this one would be of interest to a lot of you! I interviewed Roger Harvey (the HRC General Manager) in Latvia and covered a few topics. In interview he made it seem as though it may be a ... more »

Added reply in a thread Jeffrey herlings honest interview..Mexico! 4/6/2017 6:03 AM

That was what I was trying to get out of Febvre when I asked what's changed, as Mexico has been great for him in the past. When I spoke to him last year he said his focus through the remaining rounds was to do testing for this year, but the results have gotten ... more »

This is what I was trying to get across when I was on Pulp. Herlings has done questionable thing in public, but he's only ever been good to me. A lot of guys would have refused interviews, but he just stops what he's doing and's happy for me to ask whatever.

Thanks for sharing! My one goal was to get an interview like that with Herlings, so I was stoked to get it done. I got to the bottom of Romain Febvre's issues too, if anyone's interested. All my Mexican podcasts are on this link.

For a bit of content, our GoPro http://mxvice.com/64358/track-preview-gp-ofindonesia was from the last lap of the MXGP session. That would have been from the first lap or two of the first session of the day. Obviously at that point certain lines had formed, but the ruts were bottomless ... more »

That's a screenshot from our GoPro footage (link's here: http://mxvice.com/64358/track-preview-gp-ofindonesia). It was definitely the right call to cancel today - practice was more like a beach race than anything else. Some parts (the start/finish area) ... more »

Stoked to hear that! Always tried to avoid that favouritism with MXGP coverage, as it confuses me why some people treat riders differently based on their nationality.

That's awesome to hear. Thanks for following all our stuff! We leave California the week before Qatar, so will be back to the MXGP stuff soon enough!

Thanks! We're trying to raise the level each year, so hopefully you'll think it's even better this season! We're always open to feedback...
