How would you say that the JM Racing mods changed/improved the power and powerband?? And, there's not much better than the sound of a finely tuned 2 stroke on the pipe....!!!!

Cdoggy's idea will give you more control and traction with the 50, but I don't like not being able to break my back end loose and let it slide around the corner and steer it with the back end.... One of the things you can do on a Smoker, when needed! ... more »

For me, I need to be a little more aggressive with the clutch on 2 stroke starts. I'd start in 2nd gear, just a touch more revs, and practice being a hair more aggressive on letting the clutch out....

Have you had trouble with mud packing into your radiator louvers and restricting air flow?? My '17 SX has major issues with major packing mud and closing up the air flow.... I read the 18s have holes drilled to allow dirt to fall out the bottom, but ... more »

Loretta's went great and I had a Great time with my daughters and with my oldest taking on the role of Chief Mechanic!! She went to the line with me, was doing the pit board, and was a great motivator!!

Yes, I've seen a couple folks saying the stock pipes are weak and like to break!! Is your bike an 07 or a 17?? I agree, I keep everything loose so it can move under the impact of a crash... I ran the OEM levers at Loretta's and had a coupIe falls with ... more »

So levers seem to be something everybody is changing these days.... I don't really understand most of the "unbreakable" ones out there.... As most of you have probably seen, they bend back around to the front??? It must help a little, but I want a lever

Sorry, I didn't see your question. I went back with the stock needle. 43-73 and ended up in the 2nd clip position (down from the top). I'm not sure what the JD needle is, since there aren't any markings other than the red or blue coloring....
