Thanks Eric, yes I just consulted with an aortic surgeon/specialist at Yale who knows all about the aorta, operates daily on these conditions. He believes it’s a genetic condition, since my dad passed of an aneurism at the age of 94, burst as result ... more »

Thanks PAW, but no stents possible with the ascending portion, only a graft, with heart-lung machine assist during the open heart procedure.

I crashed a few months ago and broke some ribs, had a CT scan at hospital. Lucky for a follow up with my PCP and they noticed it then. They won’t fix it until it reaches 5.0, but the graft they use to fix it is durable as new. Grows about .1 cm/year. ... more »

Power lung looks interesting, how often does it get used, 3x day or ? I had a punctured lung with my broken ribs. When that happens, an air pocket can form (aka Pneumothorax) that puts pressure on your heart, if large enough can cause cardiac arrest. ... more »

Yes, Dr said I could ride at 8 weeks, but it would take 8 months to be fully mended back to original strength. Since it’s a critical location, I want to be safe.
