I know you thinks this is about you D-har-old... but it’s not. I applaud their decision (which was probably decided by Kawi, Eli and AC). More factory teams need to say enough is enough. ...and until the fix the schedule, no go. This is No longer an ‘End-Of-The-Season-Race’ it and Season Race. Ever since it was move to 4-5 weeks after our season, we’ve been losing. Hmmmmm... correlation? Again, this was a ploy by Youthstream and their cohorts. I say Boycott, boycott, boycott. As long as we keep placating to these jerkies, be going to get our arses handed to us. Unless of course we find that our 3 best racers are fine not taking an off season vacation ever again during their pro racing career.

You’re lost and mislead if you believe that @theprizefighter. Look at what doing this race does toy their off-season. Not to mention that everything about this race is designed to cater to the MXGP racers and Not the American based riders. In what other sport does an All-Star event like this take place 5weeks after their season ends. Youthstream is playing this game on purpose.... the GP riders took 4 weeks off earlier this year between rounds. The GP schedule has easily 6-8 weeks off that they don’t need during their season that could be used to align their ending with ours. Anyone who believes that It can’t be done is an idiot-stick. Roczen, Musquin and Ferrandis want nothing to do with this race now. The Yanks have No Fear on the Euros.... the schedule is a JOKE!!! it’s just you need to know when to say when.

Excellent article Cooksey. I’ve brought up many of these same points over the past couple years n comment sections and with friends, you make a few more great points I hadn’t realized ($125 for a basic ticket?!).
No question Youthstream is greedy (IMO) and needs a wake up call. I also believe that guessepi luongo intentionality moved this date so far past the U.S. season end you give yet another advantage to the Euro riders. Some may say I’m a conspiracy theorist on this but look at the results Sind this happened. ...and Youthstream only stands to benefit if the world thinks that the GP riders are the best in the world. A smoke in mirrors show if you ask me.

We get it Cooksey, you hate Tomac and You’re still an idiot. Eli Tomac has 27 450 Supercross wins, a 250SX Championship, a 250 MX Championship and is on the verge of being a 3-Time back to back to back 450 Outdoor Motocross CHAMPION. ...You don’t get to question his mental toughness until you win a Championship yourself.

Last week you go off the charts blowing up Webb and his 1 MX win in adverse conditions, then Eli has an ALL TIME AMAZING ride and you write this article... with one obligatory line about ET’s 1-1 Domination?! In case you didn’t notice Webb started up front in both motos last week, and Eli PASSED Webb in both Motos at Washougal. How mentally tough was there’s? And Webb? How about Webb at the MXoN in 2016? It’s clear who everyone but you that Eli is Mentally Tough, he’s made errors and backed it down to be safe, and he’s an All Time Great as a result. ...and no I didn’t read your article, just skimmed it for keywords).

Well I’m giving you my honest pull no punches response Cooksey. I never said anything about Webb not being Alpha or a great racer. I said you Made Up The Crap About him “Breaking” Tomac. ...and even though it was unfounded and untrue, your ego is apparently more important that your integrity.

@Ranman68, my response was directed to Cooksey (but you made a point responding to my post so I made the comment on yours). Your points are well made and my apologies for the harsh words)

You sound like you might be a novice at best practices in the media game Ranman. It’s okay for you to be a Webb Superfan, but when someone in the Media takes a stance like that, you stop getting fact based real articles and instead get some kind of fake-news propaganda piece. Cooksey clearly crossed that line with this article.

You might be a bit too much of a Cooper Webb Super Fan to be a good non-bias Moto Journalist. You might want to stick to hawking Fly gear Cooksey.

Just to be clear Cooksey, I rarely Think someone is an idiot. It’s not based on your speculation of what Webb will do from here, you may be right or you might be wrong. What got me going was your completely unfounded speculation that Webb “broke” Tomac. ...and your reasoning? ...he looked that way to you at the end of the race. You didn’t ask Tomac or anybody in his camp if he was “broke” you just assumed. Looking at the facts, 1) Tomac had the fastest lap of the race and it was on lap 13 (of 15) 2, Tomac caught within 1.6 seconds of Webb from over 10 seconds back, then bobbled and lost 3 seconds before charging back to under 1.5 (approximately) ON THE LAST LAP. Again, if it wasn’t for Tisdale blocking Tomac (after letting Webb by) he would have either passed Webb or finished right behind him. NOT the riding of a racer that was “broke”. You were out of line to broadcast this false assumption to all the Vital readers without doing your due diligence on it.

Read my post again carefully mxjorrit... I didn’t call Cooksey and idiot. I said some of his point made him Sound like an idiot. There is a difference.

Maybe we should ask Tomac if he was broken by Webb.

Well I must admit you take Angry criticism well. We’ll have to agree to disagree on the “broken” thing. In my experience when a rider is broken they don’t charge until the end like Tomac did. Again, if you take out the Tisdale blocks (and its very apparent on the TV coverage that Tisdale gunned it to get back into the main line to follow Webb) it looked full well like Tomac was ready to make a pass attempt or two before the end. I was furious at Tisdale... he was being lapped and he jacked up what may have been the best last lap battle of the season.

I get Cooksey that you’re attempting to stir the pot for some late season excitement, but a few of your points here make you sound like an idiot.

First of all, Webb didn’t “break Tomac” in the first Moto. Maybe you weren’t watching that close but Tomac pulled right up to his rear wheel on the last lap when Isaac “I don’t care if I’m a lapper” Tisdale easily let Cooper by then Full on blocked Eli in a wet and soft one lined section on the track. Eli was gunning it in the slop but with Tisdale NOT getting out of the race line and then preceding to hold Tomac up for the next 3 corners, Eli then know the race was over. It was even brought up in the post race press conference how angry Eli was about that.

Secondly, Webb’s a full race behind Tomac in points. Look at Tomac’s race overall history this year... he’s been on the podium at every race. Even if he finishes 3rd (which he won’t) in the last 4 rounds he would still have a 14 point advantage.

The real takeaway from this is that Cooksey, you’re an Idiot.
