Added reply in a thread Cycle News. GasGas to enter motocross in all classes. Stefan Pierer. 10/16/2019 8:32 AM

So you're saying the powerplant gives the motorcycle "personality?" With so much "personality" why aren't GasGas motorcycles selling like hotcakes? There's nothing particularly special about GasGas motors.

I’ve been pondering this way too much for the last week or so and I’ve finally come to the conclusion that the original picture is in fact a whip to the right. The rider is imparting energy in one direction (in this case, left), and using his body like ... more »

Right or left?

My take: he’s looking left but his ass is pointed right. If you’re focused on the direction of his ass, you have some things to ponder, and perhaps a quad to buy.

It wasn’t an Alta. It was a POS Zero Motorcycles machine that apparently snapped. They named Zero in their lawsuit with Feld, who they claimed was negligent in using inferior equipment. An Alta would have been a better choice had they been available ... more »

Leave it white. Or maybe paint the wheels black and wrap the hood and lower panels below the trim only. I’ve seen a few dope Sprinters like that.

Added reply in a thread JS 7's influence, where are the young black guys in mx/sx? 10/13/2019 6:58 PM

James got into motocross because his dad was into motocross, which is probably how most of us got into motocross. Nearly 70% of black children are born to single mothers. Not a lot of opportunities out there for young black kids to be introduced to motocross. ... more »

Not only does the off season suck, but so do every single one of these photos with shitty captions lacking any semblance of humor.

You can't self diagnose a fractured rib. Only a xray will tell you that. Bruised ribs hurt more than broken ones.

The rear wheel is not independent of the main chassis. The entire bike is being pitched left from its original centerpoint. You may see a rear wheel being “whipped” to the right but what you are actually seeing is a motorcycle being pitched to the left. ... more »

Added reply in a thread Have you ever used your front brake in the air... 10/9/2019 6:24 PM

True story: Doug Domokos used to run a small electric motor mounted to the forks to keep his front wheel spinning when he did wheelies in stadiums. That way he could use the gyroscopic effect of the front wheel to steer the bike.

Added reply in a thread Have you ever used your front brake in the air... 10/9/2019 2:59 PM

The first time I used my front brake in the air was the last time I used my front brake in the air. Losing that gyroscopic effect will pose a grave detriment to your health.

Nothing is being "thrown" here and your explanation only works if you're looking at the bike from one perspective (in this case, from behind). If we were looking at the bike from the front, the rear tire would be to the "left," would it not? What direction ... more »

If people want to live in an overly-simplistic, one-dimensional world, that's cool with me, I guess.

Well, technically speaking, this is axial rotation or, more specifically, Euler rotation.

If this were being compared to an airplane's Euler rotation (a fair analogy), the plane, in this case, would be rolled to the left (negative), with negative ... more »
