Added reply in a thread Is Barcia racing on the air shock? 1/18/2021 8:22 AM

I'll weigh in with my $0.02. First, nobody outside of WP has real insight as to what is happening inside that shock. Still, we can take some guesses (obviously). It is very likely the spring system is very (very) similar to what high end mountain bikes ... more »

Added reply in a thread Barcia trolling us about his forks: Air or Spring 1/14/2021 11:11 AM

If you pop the top cap off, it'd probably work. I'll have to look at my notes but I'm pretty sure WP suggests oil amount (not height) of 200 or 210ccs. I went down to 130ccs with great results. Please realize however, I am NOT a track rider. I am an ... more »

You have one part right, which is where the oil resides. However, the overall function of oil height in most mx forks is very similar to volume spacers (for mountain bikers). Without getting into the weeds too much on volume differential between mtb ... more »

Quoting for truth. You bring up a great point here.

Added reply in a thread Barcia trolling us about his forks: Air or Spring 1/11/2021 1:16 PM

Something to remember here, you basically have volume spacers (on the positive side) in the form of oil levels. That said, I do agree a better understanding of oil heights (or using volume spacers in the positive side) alongside what we are looking for ... more »

Added reply in a thread Barcia trolling us about his forks: Air or Spring 1/11/2021 10:59 AM

Maybe I didn't communicate this very well, but I'm specifically referencing air chamber *volume* not pressure. I am not advocating a mass produced fork go to non-equalizing positive and negative chambers. What I am advocating for is the ability for the ... more »

Added reply in a thread Barcia trolling us about his forks: Air or Spring 1/11/2021 6:56 AM

Having come from decades of mountain bike racing, where suspension setup is incredibly important, I firmly believe air can be as good as a coil, though they will always be different. There is more to it than just the forces curve of an air spring (which ... more »

Added reply in a thread Help decide: KTM EXC/XC 150 2020 TPI vs KTM SX150 2020 1/4/2021 6:00 AM

I'm going to ask a basic question first - why the 150? I love the 150 platform, but I actually find it harder to ride than a bigger two stroke. While that can be more fun, and the weight of the bike is incredible, its not really beginner friendly IMO ... more »

Added reply in a thread Gas Gas or Husky 300 12/30/2020 10:12 AM

Correct. I wouldn't call it a big difference either. To the point if the plastics were the same, you'd never tell a difference.

Added reply in a thread Resting Heart rate? 12/30/2020 8:00 AM

I actually take medicine because my blood pressure is too low. Without it, my heart rate will dip into the high 20s (asleep). With the medicine high 30s, low 40s. Its pretty funny to watch nurses at a hospital freak out as their machines go off when ... more »

Added reply in a thread Gas Gas or Husky 300 12/30/2020 6:28 AM

Honestly if you like the looks go for it. IMO, that's really the difference between all three. 99% of the bike is the same. In my mind, its funny a brand would put out three "brands" of the same bikes, all with the same frame, motor, suspension, transmission, ... more »

Added reply in a thread Gas Gas or Husky 300 12/30/2020 6:11 AM

To those saying the subframe on the Husky is junk, I think the concern is a bit overblown. Yes, you can break them. However, I'm pretty dumb and often write checks my skills can't cash. Others in my group are the same. Out of the 4 Huskys we had zero ... more »

For me it was easy. Save the money on stuff I don't really need (hand guards) or want (machined triple clamps). Get something a tiny bit different looking. Put the extra money into stuff I DO need (protection, tires, spare set of wheels etc.) The two ... more »

Doh! Forgot the seat. Though the 2021 Husky seat cover is different than the 2020. I like the 2020 the best. On an unrelated note, the Brembo stuff feels easier to pull than the Magura stuff. Its a very small difference but there fwiw. (both bikes in ... more »

Incorrect.

Was in this exact predicament a few weeks ago. I went red. Had a TX300i last year. Here are the differences *Husky has Magura brake and clutch; GasGas EX has Brembo (exact same as KTM) *Plastics on GasGas are more like the KTM with a different fender ... more »

Added reply in a thread The Electric Dirt-Bike Movement ? Still Going Strong Or Blown It’s Fuse. 12/10/2020 7:40 AM

The answer is simple: we are waiting on battery technology to get to the point it needs to get to. Currently, its not even close to replace what we can do on our gassers. Cost, weight, storage capacity. These are things we can't get around, and likely ... more »

If anyone is looking for an MX flash for the bike, HMU - I'll get the VitalMX crew a discount. We've (Silber) flashe the ECU without any hardware changes. Pretty slick. Also have higher compression heads for those looking. One thing I've noticed, changing ... more »
