Added reply in a thread Question for those who wear the 6D ATR-2. 6/23/2021 7:49 PM

No issues here. Helmet is comfortable on me, but feels like I have a watermelon on my head

Added reply in a thread Fork adjuster under handlebar 6/21/2021 12:00 PM

Just a heads up for people looking at this tool. It doesn't work on the latest gen Showa 49 mm forks on the 18+ RMZ, 17+ CRF, and 19+ KX 450s because of the fork cap design. The cap has a raised portion for the bleeder screw that prevents the flat head ... more »

Added reply in a thread NY Area Riders, Help!? 6/21/2021 11:37 AM

I'm a little late, but I grew up in Dutchess County riding D34 and MSC stuff. Now I'm out in central NY. One of the best parts about moving to a new area is checking out all the new tracks! This was a google map list I made a while ago of all the tracks

Are those WCL or FCP engine mounts?

Added reply in a thread Motocross tracks located in town? 6/16/2021 10:09 AM

Also - totally off topic, but I'm feeling nostalgic looking through my pics from this trip. Their dealerships are way cooler than ours! It was like a grocery store of motorcycle parts instead of everything hidden behind the counter or having to be ordered

Not in the US, but a few years ago I got to ride in at Plaza Sakashita in Osaka, Japan. The track is right on the edge of the city and some of the turns overlook the skyline. It was a really cool experience and I want to go back some day! I just did

Agreed, it looked like a Russian version of ungroomed weekday Broome Tioga practice lol.

Added reply in a thread Change tube with every tire change? 6/13/2021 5:45 PM

No way. I get a year or 2 out of a tube no problem! My last bike still had the OE Dunlop tube in it when I sold it!

Added reply in a thread Greasing your bike - what grease do you use? 6/10/2021 3:38 PM

Thank for the PSA on bike washing. It's a shit design because it doesn't effectively keep water out. The water is not getting under the rubber lip of cap, it runs between the nut and the inner race because the castle of the nut is cut so deep that it ... more »

Added reply in a thread Let's see/review those 2019 kx450s 6/10/2021 9:40 AM

FYI, I posted this fix for the KX steering stem bearings in the "Greasing your bike" thread last night and figured I should share it here too. So far this seems to have cured my crunchy stem bearing issues! --- The reason your kx stem bearings are rusting ... more »

Added reply in a thread Greasing your bike - what grease do you use? 6/10/2021 12:28 AM

The reason your kx stem bearings are rusting is water intrusion - it's not your fault, it's just a shit design. Water is getting in between the upper bearing inner race and the preload nut. Look closely and you'll see it is not an effective sealing joint. ... more »

Added reply in a thread Track toolbox ? 6/4/2021 7:32 AM

Was just going to comment this. I got one for Xmas this year and use it for moto. It's waterproof so I can leave it in the back of the truck on the way to the track and not have to worry about rusty tools. I wish they had a sealed 3 drawer box, but I've ... more »

Added reply in a thread How to get better at leaning in corners 5/31/2021 3:05 PM

To lean over more for the same turn you need to either go faster or turn sharper. It's all balance, so the more leaned over you are the more centrifugal force you need to equally try and stand you up. Focus on being smooth and faster rather than leaning ... more »

Added reply in a thread Jeep gladiator? 5/25/2021 9:31 AM

I got one as a rental last year. What a turd of a vehicle. My gf was a big Jeep fan, so I let her drive it. She doesn't want a Jeep anymore haha.

Added reply in a thread Where is the best place to live in US for moto? 5/24/2021 7:32 PM

Don't sleep on NY. Our dirt is spotty, some spots are like riding a gravel driveway (looking at you Diamondback and Broome Tioga), but we have a little of everything. There is a pretty big moto scene with 6 districts/promoters (D3, MSC, Empire, USMX, ... more »

Added reply in a thread Sketchy pipe repair? 5/10/2021 5:06 PM

At 5psi you have to heat the dent with an oxyacetylene torch. I use an old auto body hammer to tap around the dent and they pop right out. As said before, I still hate doing them this way, but it works.

Added reply in a thread Sketchy pipe repair? 5/10/2021 11:30 AM

I've done it this way with no problems, but it is admittedly dangerous. I don't go over 5 psi and I wince the whole time I'm doing it. 30+ is asking for trouble. If you accidentally ignite anything inside the pipe you've made a bomb. It would be smarter ... more »

Is it hard to find time to ride and take care of a baby? How much do you weigh? I don't think it will like being ridden.
