Engine assembly is all but finished now, just waiting on the reproduction stator to arrive to complete the engine.

Started to assemble the engine, new transmission bearing in the cases, removed the old cam drive gear and old main bearings from the crank and fitted all new gear and bearings. After they cooled I installed the crank and transmission into the case. There’s

I was originally planning on getting them vapor blasted but I got them fairly close to where I wanted them. I did tweak them a little further than in this photo, still not as good as vapor blast admittedly. The casting quality is certainly not as good ... more »

I removed the old bearings off the crank and got the cases looking pretty decent for a 45yr old engine. Assembly of engine next on the to do list. Just need to ensure I don’t require any more parts before starting assembly

The engine had the top end removed previously as it was all roached, so I got to pulling the bike down. This wasn’t too hard as these bikes are only small and simple.

I’ll try that next time. It didn’t take much of a blast to get the required finish. Scotch brite did the majority of the work on the shaft. The finish has stayed consistent for the last 9months without tarnishing. Wd40 is used a lot in my shed 👍🏽

The ignition cover and water pump cover is cerakoted in a champagne silver that a mate made for me, I’m pretty happy with the finish that came out

I blasted the tip and the arm then brushed the shifter arm. Polished the pivot pin. Then had a mate turn up the plug which I left brushed.

I may have a genuine factory shifter in the works, just waiting to hear back. Good luck finding a barpad mate, I had been looking for about 2 years prior to finding this one. They do pop up every now and then. Seat covers are another thing that is hard ... more »

Small update, I received a couple of cool parts I’ve been searching for for years. Works Suzuki rear brake clevis with titanium pin and Suzuki etched Hinson clutch cover. Also started cleaning up the works front disc, still have a little bit of work
