Reply to Fork Conundrum 1/30/2017 5:31 AM

Those 05 YAMAHA forks had an issue with the inner chambers staying primed. On hard landings they would pump fluid out of the inner chambers and create the feeling you are having. Some of the big suspension companies offered a spacer that cured the problem. ... more »

The one I remember had a custom brush guard/grille, and the tailgate had cutouts for the rear wheel when the tailgate was closed.

Is this bike still available? If so, what's the best way to contact you?

There's no misunderstanding. NTM102 had it right the first time. I guess the 6 month suspension the AMA levied on this kid is a misunderstanding too?

Reply to Throttle stuck WFO on a 2-stroke 12/30/2016 4:43 AM

I've got a plate in my right arm from a 99 KX250. We never could figure out what caused the throttle to stick. I had the bike at a local shop for a second opinion, and it did it again while on a stand. They determined it had an air leak between the center ... more »

We decided about noon Saturday to make the trip from Atlanta to Charlotte. I am so glad we went. That was the best race I've ever been to. Getting to see the bikes up close, the track, the racing, and everything about it was awesome. The petty bs arguing ... more »

Monster Mountain, War Eagle, and Phenix City are your closest options that are open on a regular basis. That's a pretty good location for moto. Lots of options within a reasonable driving distance.

Tonight was my first time attending an Endurocross. Nowhere near as entertaining as the Atlanta SX, but well worth attending. Gwinnett Arena is a top notch facility, but the crowd was pretty weak. I think they need to advertise this event more. Maybe ... more »

About $1500 in parts. That includes cases, cylinder, valves, counterbalance shaft, piston, and the misc. other parts. The Carrillo rod I've had on back order finally came in. Luckily I can do all the labor myself.

Looks like a 2001 to me. I've always heard the 01 was a much better bike and had one of the best motors ever produced.

This bike has less than 50 hours. Ask anyone with experience with these bikes and they will tell you the rods are weak. I've had a Carrillo rod on back order for 6 weeks. I was hoping that the stock one would last until I got it. No

KTM has set the bar pretty high in the 65 class. I would think Yamaha would make some serious updates to their 85 before entering the 65 market.
