Dear Keith Stone, How do you feel about Stewart's fitness? Do you think eleven days will be enough time to increase his physical fitness so he can finish two motos? And do you think James might have returned a little bit too early? Do you think it was ... more »

Coincidentally, conspiracy theories usually generate from people who have unanswered questions regarding governments, corporations, homicides, etc. Good point though. Roger picking Short could have been the best thing for Stewart. With him not being ... more »

In that case, then Roger Decoster is a math genius. Not only did he pick Ryan Dungey from the B class, and turn him into a AMA Champion, he also knew Stewart didn't have the fitness to go two motos before he actually lined up on the gate.

Fact Check: His Moto #1 podium interview came before he threw in the towel during Moto #2. Okay, so your perception is that he was tired. I only say "your perception" because that's only your opinion/perception. James never actually said he was tired ... more »

I think you're reading more into my explanation, than the average motoboard-hack reads into the lack of explanation of James'.

I think it would help to some extent by ruling out all the explanations others are speculating, so yeah. The more tight-lipped they remain, the more people are going to fill his thoughts and words for him. He doesn't have to speak to anyone, but the ... more »

I don't, I'm just explaining what happens. If he would have given us his perspective after he quit, then the thousands of motofans viewing wouldn't be left with their own interpretation of what happened.

With all due respect, it's basically James' fault all this speculation pops up. If he would have done an interview with Erin Bates, or any interview with anyone, nobody would be led to speculate. If he pulled off to be safe, why couldn't he have just ... more »

As Jeff Emig stated, all this boils down to is who's going to have the momentum going into the 2011 season (Maybe I should have titled the thread, "The Momentum Battle Between Dungey and Stewart). Dungey, who is on a roll right now (e.g., "I'm not backing ... more »

It's a big aspect of the sport. Look what one win did for the confidence of Trey Canard!

I think Jason Weigandt and Steve Cox made some great comments in the "post race" show about the psychological battle between Stewart and Dungey (though i'm probably in the minority of finding this stuff interesting, as a graduate psychology student). ... more »

James got mentally defeated by Dungey. He gave up, because he's never been stuck in the back of the pack like that before in his entire life, and he mentally couldn't take it, so he gave up. I'm watching moto #1, and Stewart is riding hard, but he's ... more »

Dungey's mental maturity blows me away. Males don't mentally mature until around twenty-five, but the way Dungey rode Saturday reminded me a lot of RC (in his later years) RC always preached about learning to let the race come to him. I think he's preached ... more »

You're right, The guy is an extremely creative rider. There was some video posted on transword (I think) not long ago where he exited out of a turn in a wheelie and maintained it for the next 25 feet or so, so he could speed jump a single. The guy is ... more »

Aside from not being in top physical condition, and the bike obviously needing more testing (Compared to RD's Suzuki), James simply can't psychologically handle losing. People always say he either, "Wins or Crashes," but that is not the case, the real ... more »
