No, that's not necessarily so, unless maybe you're just speaking about confirmation bias, which is only one of many cognitive biases. Broadly, factoring in cognitive bias is more accounting for the tricks brains play in your critical thinking process. ... more »

Heuristics simply are ways our minds trick us into suboptimal conclusions, including disregarding or discounting conflicting data. Things like the sunk-cost fallacy, or recency bias, etc. It usually easier to discuss them neutrally, because they apply

I've wondered about the 38's on the older bikes; power valves on the modern bikes temper the low end compromise on with a bigger carb. Maybe it's just a question of riding it with a little more wrist depending on conditions.
