I think if you do that often, your brain can adjust between them a lot easier. My buddy rides his old KX250 2 stroke and 19 KX450 back to back all the time and has no trouble at all transitioning. My YZ250 felt almost like a 125 as far as how I had to ... more »

Sorry for the long reply but since I had a similar situation I'll give you my two cents. I bought my KX450 in March, and I was coming off 3 years on a YZ250 (a 2016, newer than yours, but still very similar). Prior to the YZ, I'd taken 25 years off from ... more »

Added reply in a thread Tech 7 Sizing Question 10/10/2019 4:21 PM

My Tech 7 boots fit true to size. I'm size 11 in any walking shoe, and the size 11 boots fit well. I have not owned Tech 10 and can't speak to whether the inner booty affects the fitment at all.

10-4 on that. I wasn't super clear, when I said I'm careful "not to do that" I meant squeezing it inadvertently in the air. I have to think real hard about not covering either lever with my index fingers. Sick photos btw.

If the previous owner did a top end and didn't notice a grenaded slide, I wouldn't assume anything. Even the fact that he even did the top end. Unless he's a friend of yours anyway. Good luck with it.

Yeah same here, that's extreme. I've heard of simple cracks in slides causing a lean condition at mid throttle, but that slide looks like it's been shot!

Same here regarding bicycle wheelies. As a kid I could wheelie my bmx bike for up to a quarter mile, but when the front wheel stopped spinning it was really hard to keep going, especially if there was any breeze to counteract.

100% that's your cause. Edit to add: time to tear down the top end too to inspect any damage from the slide's shrapnel. The old owner is probably high-fiving himself about now.

I cover my brake with my index finger, and I tapped it on accident during a race while old-man-scrubbing a small jump and got concussed into the next week when the bike gyrated to the side. I'm super careful now not to do that

Could be so many things, and no information about whether it used to work well for you until now, if anything was changed/added recently, etc. Sounds like a lean bog, in the area that normally indicates the needle needs adjusting, but before you even ... more »

Yeah they are fulla crap. You can look up the part numbers on Partshark or any OEM database (like on Rocky Mtn etc.). The part numbers haven't changed from the old 18 and below and the current models. PLATE-NUMBER,B.WHITE 58029-0013-266 PLATE-NUMBER,L.GREEN ... more »

That happens around here too, and typically it's the Loretta Lynn's effect. Anyone who has aspirations of racing at LL in their respective C class will look like a sandbagger at their local races, but may only be mid-pack at LL. I don't get upset at ... more »

I just had this issue happen to me last weekend, same side. Turned out that the shroud's tab popped out where it connects to the airbox, which normally keeps that part of the shroud tucked in out of the boot's way. Popped it back into place and didn't ... more »

Honestly I'm not sure, I should ask my older brother who knew him a bit and raced with Phil. Dude was FAST as hell. He rode KTMs in Hawaii in the late 80s, and I have no idea how he made those horrific machines go that quick.
