Added reply in a thread Random spoke/wheel truing question... 5/21/2021 6:44 AM

Since most MX wheels are 36 spokes, be careful doing every 3rd spoke since 36 is divisible by 3. This will have you hitting the same spokes lap after lap around the wheel. If you do every 3rd spoke you have to remember to advance 1 spoke at the beginning ... more »

Kind of. You'd be better off alternating sides, more spacing, like every 5th spoke or so. Even then, you're still going to need to recheck and correct the true as you go and when done. If the goal is simply to replace all spokes and nipples, I'd just ... more »

Yes, he would get ripped apart. Because that is what people are about nowadays. No matter who they put in there some people on here are going to say he sucks.

When you think about getting cone valves or a Vortex, think back to the time you couldn't even tell you were on the wrong bike.

Same deal for Shoei. I had the VFX-W in both US market and Japan domestic versions and the Japan version was def more round shaped. My buddy bought it off me because it fit his head better than the US version.

Husky 125 comes with a 39N/mm spring. I’d expect the KTM and gasgas to be the same. I put a 42 on mine and it’s perfect, really good balance at 180 lbs.

Added reply in a thread YZ125 Jetting help 5/11/2021 7:50 AM

Stock YZ jetting is pretty good. You should be fine to run a mix of pump and either of those. It will likely be a little on the rich side and a bit spoogy but should be rideable.

Scale? You fill with Nitrogen until you reach a certain pressure, just like filling tires. Another thread with info: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Affordable-nitrogen-tank-setup,1387577#post_4704082 This is the hose I use to adapt the ... more »

Added reply in a thread What 125 would best fit a shorter guy? 5/10/2021 11:07 AM

Here's my anecdotal take on it. I have a 2020 FC350 which is the "normal" suspension. Even that bike compared to the corresponding KTM's "feels" a hair smaller. I believe the different tank, subframe, body, and seat make a small overall difference. The ... more »

Added reply in a thread Hardpack wheelset for 250f 5/10/2021 10:50 AM

100 will go on a 2.15" rim no prob. That is how the KTM/Husky 125's come stock. But I'd think you'd want the 110/90 for the hardpack with marbles.

Added reply in a thread What 125 would best fit a shorter guy? 5/9/2021 5:44 PM

The numbers don't even tell the story. Sitting on the bike and riding it are eye opening. Being so low makes all the 2021 Huskies handle awesome and the light weight of the 125 makes it really great. For those who don't want to drop the cash for a 2021 ... more »

5-7, 5-8 maybe on a good day. The short legs are the tough part though.

Same height and inseam here. 2021 Husky is by far the best option. I have one and it is a game changer for us short-leggers. I had a 2006 YZ125 prior. No comparison. The YZ is frickin tall ! I did have a second seat for the YZ that was nicely shaved ... more »

Added reply in a thread 2021 FC250 Bogging & Making a BAD Engine Noise 5/6/2021 3:28 PM

Yeah, that sounds like cam chain noise, but hard to say. The stupid hydraulic chain tensioner is a known issue. I'm guessing one potential scenario is your cam chain jumped time due to the known chain slack issue with these tensioners. Here's a previous ... more »

Added reply in a thread "Small bore" kits? 5/6/2021 12:40 PM

This. The best part of the KTM 350 is the light, flickable, non-tiring feel compared to the 450. Having the reduced power of an under bore but still having the heavy inertia of the 450 crank sounds like the worst of both worlds to me.

Added reply in a thread 65’s? 5/6/2021 12:29 PM

I've laid this out in other threads before. For those saying that "it's the rider not the bike", yes, that is true. But if the riders are equal, the 10 less pounds of the KTM is a huge deal if you are racing. Repost from another thread: All in all, the ... more »

I don't have any specific info, but I think that's the general consensus. All the factories dropped their direct teams in Japan except for Yamaha.

I've used the Prestone pre-diluted 50/50 in plenty of bikes. Works fine. No need for additional flushing if you already drained the system.
