Yes, the hydraulic tensioner causing noise is a known problem. I now have over 40 hrs on the Nihilo manual tensioner and it's been great. Bike actually seems a little faster, freer revving also. Same here. Living in the SouthWest, I am never outdoors without sunglasses on, ever. I wouldn't last 10 minutes. There was recently another headache thread with lots of good info: https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Migraines-from-motocross,1384546 ... more »

Does the sound match speed with engine rpm's? Does it change with clutch pulled in or out? With bike in gear or not in gear?

Added reply in a thread Light dusting in air boot a problem? 4/4/2021 7:59 AM

Same here on the Twin Air dust cover. I sometimes use them and oil it and it stops 90% of the crap from ever getting to the main filter. Fine dust is the exact reason I tried bio oil one time and went back to Bel Ray oil. The bio crap just did not stop ... more »

As a side note, for anyone having brake probs. If you want to ensure it is 100% bled properly and eliminate that from the equation, skip cracking the banjos, skip pushing from the bottom with a syringe, skip using a vacuum bleeder. Just take the caliper ... more »

If you open up the exhaust with a slip on or full system, you absolutely must remap. The stock mapping is super lean and the bike will barely start with stock mapping and a more open exhaust. Not to mention you're basically getting no benefit from the ... more »

You could be absolutely right. Sounds reasonable that they'd fine tune each bike on the dyno as they come off the assembly line. It makes perfect sense that a system that relies on balls, ramps, springs, and a threaded preload adjuster is not going to ... more »

Yes, it is strange that the manuals don't really mention what the "stock" setting is supposed to be. I've seen people passing on what the stock setting are "supposed" to be. Not sure where they are getting the info or if it's just what the majority of ... more »

Don't rely on what anyone tells you. Check your bike to know where it is at. They seem to vary from the factory regardless of what anyone says the stock position is "supposed" to be. We had 3 brand new 2021 KTM 85's all side by side. Checked them all ... more »

Had one. Stock they are one of the weakest 450's ever made. Honda went crazy with the ultra-quiet exhaust and matching lean mapping that year. Bike feels like a CRF230F. I put on a Yosh slip on, high compression piston, stage 2 cam and remapping. Then ... more »

Best bet with the fuel screw is to take it out completely and verify the proper installation and orientation of the spring, washer and o-ring. While it is out, blow out the fuel-screw circuit with carb cleaner. If the bike does not already have an EZ-adjust

02-07 CR125 is one of the best handling bikes ever. I compare my 2021 husky 125 to that bike. Similar blend of cornering and stability. I had a YZ125 prior to my Husky. The Husky/KTM engine, once jetted properly, is better in every way than the YZ125. ... more »
