I have a complete linkage off a 17 FX450, 30 hours on it.

I wouldn’t be the least bit concerned about it, personally.

Put a Brembo clutch slave on it and you’ll never have another problem.

Go to ace and find Allen head screws with the same thread pitch. Or get some from sudco. Jets r us is good too, as others have mentioned.

@xeno How do you feel the new X compares to the first gen?

The 450x has more aftermarket support in terms of engine upgrades: uncork, exhaust, vortex ECU with an RX head and cam will make it a screamer. Hit up Joe at JCR Speedshop.

In my opinion the air forks aren’t well suited to Rocky, rooty stuff, but work pretty well on the track or in high speed desert with big whoops, sand, ect. I had Factory Connection work mine over and it made a huge difference. But they still aren’t great ... more »

I’ve had great luck with the Parker DT rear/Washougal front. I’m running it on my Husky too and like it a lot. I’ve found it to work well on a wide range of terrain. I tried the Parker DT front and hated it. I’m very impressed with the rear though, and ... more »

Hey Joe, front tire is a Kenda Washougal 2. Head is a new worked over X head with TRX valves and JCR cam, from you 😊. Unless you sold me an R head... I can’t recall. The emissions casting is present but it’s not drilled out.

A properly tuned STIC will do all of those things.

I went with yellow hoses, which I think go nicely. Usually I am not a fan of colored hoses in most cases. I added some insulation, as husky has these hoses really close to the header and upper exhaust manifold. The radiators clean up nicely with some

I noticed some spots on the frame upon tear down, where dirt had gotten between the tank/rubber tank pad and frame, and rubbed through the powdercoating. I decided to buy some 3M vinyl and cut some pieces to place in these areas. Another spot was on

Stock battery. I've had no issues. I have the fan set to come on at 195 degrees, so it doesn't run all the time. I think Engine Ice starts to boil somewhere around 250, so that's plenty of room to catch the heat and cool the bike down before boil over. ... more »

I ended up splitting the cases on this bike and installing a 6th gear from a 500 EXC. I think this is something that KTM/Husky should have done on the FX450s and 450XCFs, much like what they did with the cross country 350 gearbox. I hated that I would

Thanks! As much as I hate putting money in China’s pocket, it’s a huge bargain for the price. I really like it and would recommend it.

Decided to do a little refresh on my FX, while we wait for the scorching heat to die down here in southern AZ. Just got the frame back from a month long stint at the powder coaters. They did a great job, so it was worth the wait.

If you don’t have a radiator fan and you’re racing off-road, you need to get one. I would also recommend getting the IMS catch can that fits in the frame. It can hold probably a flask sized volume of coolant in the event of a boil over. I run a Boyesen ... more »

You can get rolls of 3M clear vinyl on Amazon. I just bought a roll to put on different high wear spots on my frame, once it comes back from powdercoating.
