The MXTech A48-R cap seems like it might help with the plushness I’m looking for too, even though the stiction would still be there.

I’m also open to a spring conversion as well, if it gives me more supple action in the initial part of the stroke, and a better front end feel. Everything else about the fork I am happy with. I can swallow $700 a lot easier if I can get mostly what I ... more »

A friend of mine is an Ohlins dealer and swears by their cartridge kit. I guess I was just hoping for a way around it, but I don't think there is. Time to start squirreling away some cash. I don't think these forks are bad by any means. I like them on ... more »

Anyone?

Anyone installed this kit during a rebuild? Did you feel a significant difference in stiction? I am looking to see if I can get any more comfort out of these forks in the rocks and braking bumps without going all in on a cartridge kit. I am currently ... more »

2001 YZ125 and 2008 CRF450R were probably the two best bikes I've ever owned. The worst bike I've ever owned was a 16 YZ450F. It wasn't that it was unreliable or anything, I just absolutely hated the way that bike handled.

14/47 a pretty drastic jump, and is more of an open desert gearing (like for 100+ mph across a lakebed). Buy a 14T sprocket and try it out with your stock 50T sprocket. Its a $30ish dollar experiment. What bike are we talking about here?

Steel It is tough as nails, and you can actually touch it up. I prefer it over powder coat, unless I want a color other than black or gray.

Anyone know what type of paint KTM/Husky uses on their frames? I don’t believe it is any kind of powder coat, based off of how contact cleaner softens the paint. I am thinking of either having it sandblasted and powdercoated, or stripping the paint and ... more »

That’s a good idea, thanks.

It is probably the equivalent of a drop every 45 seconds or so. Definitely not enough to end up running the engine dry with a day of riding. Just enough to be annoying and have a dirty engine.

A friend of mine has a 17 FC350 he bought off a guy with around 25 hours on it. The bike has been leaking oil since he got it. The shitbag that sold it cleaned it up and never said a word about it to my friend, along with a plethora of other issues he

Vortex ECU with Twisted Development maps is hands down the best investment for these bikes, aside from suspension. Makes a huge difference.
