Mine has a VHM head, V Force reed block and a HGS pipe. It runs perfectly and is a match for any other 250 two stroke.
Incredible event as usual. So good to have it back and with things back to normal. Any news on the injured people from Saturday’s incident? Saw the whole thing happen - a CR500 on full throttle cartwheeling into spectators is a scary thing indeed.
This is so true - suspension tuned to your ability, and put the rest on tyres, fuel, oil an air filter maintenance.
This is very common over in Europe- I have had a couple. I'd honestly recommend getting a purpose made one like those offered by TM, Husqvarna, KTM for convenience if you're going to do any road work. If it's to be a pure race/track machine, it doesn't ... more »
That's great feedback. At this stage in my life, late-30s, father to young children and business owner, I can ill afford the risks associated with superbikes. I've had them all before, R1/R6, ZX10R, Ducati 996R and a few supermoto bikes and the novelty ... more »
This announcement has made me want to run out and buy a Triumph road bike. Haven't had a street bike for years, but I like what they're doing and hadn't really been following, until now....
What is not to like about this - another new participant that has the balls to front their own factory team and go racing with their product. Hopefully more 2 stroke options, and with a long pedigree of established engineers with legit R&D budget ... more »
Excited to see if and what Yamaha announce. If it’s a significantly updated two stroke, I’m in (don’t care what cc).
They are the same and will bolt on, however the if you're using a 2002 cylinder, you will need the 2002 powervalve assembly too (it's a one year part). The powervalve was changed in 2003 and you can't put those bits in the 2002 and vice versa. Good luck. ... more »
This 144 is not a million miles off being finished. Only taken me 5 years so far..
Ouch. Best of luck with it!
I'd try Jason at JK Racing (based in Essex) as he has a lot of spares for those bikes and can probably source whatever you need.
I have lost count of the money I have spent on factory suspension, unnecessary carbon fibre, titanium and magnesium castings. It's my vice and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Maybe time for Jordon Smith to pack his bags and come to Europe and try a fresh start in the MX2 class before he destroys his body any further (or worse) in supercross. Didn't do Zach Osborne any harm.
"He's gotta make it happen".
Nothing wrong with that move, he ran him wide and didn’t clean him out. But... I am getting very frustrated on Roczen’s behalf - he keeps coming off second best in these scenarios and seemingly lets it happen time and time again. Crying on the podium ... more »
I own both. Only think the YZ beats the KTM with is the suspension out of the box.
DocWob in the UK is about to sell the HRC front brake discs (rotors as you call them).
Same here. In the US (I lived in Manhattan 2015-19), I used Maxima 927, but my staple in the UK is Castrol A747. Just be sure to give it a good shake if stored as it can separate if sat mixed for a while. As for transmission oil, I use ATF and change ... more »
