Curious to know everybody’s favorite thing to work on and something they dread doing. - favorite thing is linkage. -Least favorite is steering stem bearings by far. I’d rather tear my whole motor down then grease my freaking steering stem bearings

Added reply in a thread YZ125 Jetting Specs for Socal 11/14/2019 11:01 PM

All depends on where you’re at. Elevation, temperature. What’s wrong with your jetting now? Like why don’t you like it? It’s not crisp off the bottom, top, middle? I’m in North Carolina so I can’t give you jetting sizes but myself and a lot of others ... more »

Added reply in a thread Vapor Vs Walnut shell blasting of engine cases. 11/14/2019 5:52 PM

What did you blast your engine cases with? I really like the look of glass beads but some people say it embeds the beads into the metal and others say it doesn’t with low psi. Then others say it still does and u have to tape them off. So does it? Or ... more »

I am no pitbike expert or mechanic. On a race bike if it is spitting and sputtering at high rpm, 99% of the time it means the bike is to rich on the main jet. I had a yz250 that ran great off the bottom, middle, but in the top it wanted to sputter. Almost ... more »

Added reply in a thread Can you put stock rings on a vertex piston? 11/8/2019 4:18 PM

I didn’t know vertex made a ring kit. I haven’t checked on the vertex site. I figured other distributors would carry them if they had them. I’ll look on their site and order from there.

2013 yz250 and about to change rings for the winter riding. Can you put stock rings on a vertex piston? I’ve always ran stock pistons but decided to use vertex this time.

I’ve always heard no wiseco and I will most likely go with stock but I was just curious if anybody had heard what I did. Apparently wiseco changed their rod material and it’s now stronger? It was just some he said she said stuff so I was just curious ... more »

Yeah I know. I just would like for it to last 60-70 hours before it looks terrible and needs to be done again.

Added reply in a thread Cerakote on top fork tubes? 10/30/2019 8:19 AM

Really? I would have never expected that. My forks slid at some point and scratched them up bad. As long as it’s not scratched I’m fine with it. I know cerakote has a more dull look but I think black would look good. Black doesn’t need to be shiny. In ... more »

Added reply in a thread How do the pros get their tires to keep spinning so easily? 10/30/2019 7:41 AM

Every bike I have owned spins like that. I take off the tire and grease the axle before and after every race (woods) and I take a bronze wire wheel to it. Also, you could have your clip in the rear brake cylinder installed wrong. Causing it to drag the ... more »
