The only other bearing I installed was the main bearings But I can order a new main bearing and transmission bearing and try and find another case

Also, this makes me nervous about the main bearings. I had to press the main bearing in half way cause it got stuck. When I don’t this the bearing made a noise. I can’t remember if it was a cracking noise or a screeching noise. Just remember a noise. ... more »

And it’s cracked. Great

Went to install my countershaft bearing and it didn’t go in all the way with the sweating method. Well I have a press and decided I would just press it in. Well the stator case half is not level so I put a piece of aluminum where the sprocket would go.

Pins? Like the pin that slides through the brake pads? If that’s the part you’re talking about then no. I usually just clean it off and smooth it out with a scotch brite and put a light amount of grease on it. Yeah tusk is probably not the best brand ... more »

When I sit on the bike and completely pull the front brake lever in, I can still move the tire slightly back and forth. It has a “notching” type feeling. Almost like when your steering stem bearings are bad or front wheel bearings. Both are good. It’s ... more »

Yeah I’ve cleaned other parts with it and have noticed that. I could see cases being a pain in the butt to not get the white spots off in all the little corners.

I put two cranks seals in this year. I have a 2013 yz250. Must be a Yamaha thing. And my bike does not run bad. It actually runs perfect.

So I should just replace them. I have a case splitter and crank puller and everything and have done bottom ends before but usually I don’t care to clean anything. I’m really asking because I want to clean these cases well and want to see if I can clean ... more »

Doing that one time I don’t think would do any harm. It’s always best to check. I have ran bikes out of gas, on purpose and not, and have never had any issues. I would be more worried about screaming a motor that isn’t properly warmed up. But the answer ... more »

This winter I will rebuild my yz250 motor. Should I replace my transmission bearings as well? Bike doesn’t have an hour meter but if I had to guess I would say it has 75ish hours. MAYBE 100. Also, while the engine is apart I’m going to clean the cases. ... more »

I don’t have any before pics but this is the result. Parts were slightly oxidized. Just normal wear parts of a 7 year old bike.

It took a while to get some replies so I went ahead and got some shells and blasted a few parts I had sitting around. I do have a cabinet so it’s not messy and doesn’t go fast. It worked well but at first I was blasting at way to low of pressure. I was ... more »

I measured the spring length on one of the forks but did not on the other. I’m not 100% sure what clips you are describing. I will have to look into it and find that out. I’m just stunned that I took it to a suspension guy and it’s still not right. So ... more »
