1 & 1 at Pala looked pretty easy after he gapped Prado.
The odds of him doing the same at Hangtown are pretty good. We all know he has his starts dialled and will always come out in front or near the front.
The chances of a perfect season are slim but Jett started the same way with his PS.and got it done.
Hunter is now the man to beat, and he will have Jett as his wingman throughout the season.
What say you Vital specialists?
I wouldn't bet against the guy. 22-0 is a little too much but the title is within reach. Seems like a hard-working, very analytical rider who studies and learns a lot, and it looks like he's as healthy as he's ever been so hopefully he can keep the roll going.
No perfect season for Hunter because Washougal 😂
I don't expect to see a fall off from him, or Prado this weekend. Or the next, or the...
I think the bigger battles will be for the podium, and top 5-6.
Hopefully Jett can consistently shadow his brother, being a points buffer through the entire season. That may be the best we can hope for.
And I really hope Chase can overcome the tendency for his bike to tuck the front.
And J.Coop seriously needs to put two motos together.
He’ll take it and win every round.

Hard to argue against a dominant season from Hunter. Its a lot of the things you would have said about a healthy Jett in the past. How do you beat a guy this good when he starts at the front every moto?
It all depends on how fast Jett can adjust to his ankle. Still really hard to bet against him figuring things out.
Deegan, 5-6. He’s already saying he needs to change how he rides which is what I been saying
Same. I don’t know why this was not talked about more. Seemed pretty obvious to me.
Maybe Eli was one of the very few that could kind of manhandle the 450. But even then he had a lot of finesse.
Yep but Eli also manages the power with the clutch the entire time.
Jett was barely able to walk after that second moto. They mentioned on the broadcast that he had his suspension too soft in the first bc he hadn't been pushing at the practice track. That means that two hard motos is probably relatively new territory for this injury. I wouldn't be surprised if Jett didn't finish the season due to this talus injury. It is very possible that it continues to worsen.
With his doctors saying he should continue to improve, I'll be taking that as an indictator until proven otherwise. We'll see, that's why they run the races!
I wouldn't put much stock in what the doctors are saying publicly in a PR piece made for tv. Especially when they called it career ending for a number of other athletes. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out over the season.
Chase has been on 3 different brand bikes that tuck the front, maybe it's the rider.
..thanks for the reminder, Shoug is his Achilles heal. Here's hoping he swings it the other way.
Why did everyone sleep on Hunter before the season?!
He was always the man to beat going into Outdoors. The guy is an absolute weapon outdoors.
I was thinking about Chase last night whilst trying to fall asleep. Every time he washes the front, it appears that it's in a right hand turn??? Anyone?
The inner ear is home to the cochlea and the main parts of the vestibular system. The vestibular system is one of the sensory systems that provides your brain with information about balance, motion, and the location of your head and body in relation to your surroundings, and just maybe has a unknown problem with his vestibular in a ear (right??) that is causing these tip-overs????
I recall that it's always in a right hand turn that he washes out. Something ain't right and I doubt its the bike. It's happened with his Honda, his KTM and now the Kawa. It's a problem with him.
What do you guys think of my theory?
Using too much front brake?
Maybe he should try Vohland's rear brake setup...
Disagree, riding and walking aren’t the same. I’m sure he is sore, but even in his interview they played Jett said something like even a Jett that isn’t 100% is still good so he will line up. I’d agree m.
Pit Row
Hunter could run the table and with Jett not at 100% Hunter has to be the favorite for the title. I think Prado or Jett will beat him in at least 1 moto this year (Southwick probably), but if he wins the overall at Hangtown he has to be a heavy favorite to win the title. He wasn't that far off Jett and Chase the last two years and with both of them in a down year he has to be the favorite.
His walking seemed to deteriorate significantly over the course of the day. That tells me that riding inflames this injury. This idea that riding and walking are two separate activities that are mutually exclusive is laughable. If riding worsens your ability to walk then it is pretty clearly also going to impair your ability to ride. Adrenaline probably carried Jett through the day. I just think there is a strong possibility that he will not be able to recover week in and week out.
One race in and there's already talk about a perfect season?

Hunter will be a machine this outdoor season. Sexton looked to have his forks rebound quickly and then his front tire slid out. Most of his tucks appear to happen from his forks initial rebound
Once the series heads back east I think we’ll see Prado really shine.
Over reaction after 1 race. I think Hunter wins the championship. His starts are awesome and it looks like he has a slight edge in speed on the field. No chance in hell he goes undefeated though.
Yes Sir, we are bench racers, bench racing. You remember Jett's rookie year when he went 1 & 1 at Pala and then......how did that turn out? Hunter is primed and so far he is on par...
He washes the front for two reasons- 1. Head is down and 2. He drops his inside elbow /thread
I'm a realist and I have been around this game long enough to know that a perfect season is unlikely for Hunter, or for anyone, but geezuz, Jett pulled it off.
Hunter is 1 & 1, and as fans, this is awesome. How far can he run it?
Actually crazy how I've never seen a single perfect season comment until Jett made it look somewhat easy in 2023. Now people are throwing that term around like it's just a normal thing to do. 😂
I don't buy that. That is a rookie mistakes and Chase ain't a rookie, he is one of the best. I really believe in my theory that there is a medical reason......three different brands and same problem/
Hunter is the top dog for now... And at Pala, it wasn't as close as it looked. But he's never been quite as sharp at Hangtown. So I think it will be a closer race. Like a 2-1 for the overall.
Unlike Jett, I think Hunter has a few tracks that he is still damn good, but maybe not as good as others.
Fair to say, he's the title favorite.
