2027 Honda CRF450R and HRC Works Edition

5/29/2026 1:49pm

After seeing some comments on the new CRF's  I started to wonder about the new RMZ450.  And how they could drop a bike with a red rear fender and plates and likely get close to the attention as if they added all of the listed improvements in this image.

I get it that the looks are the first thing You notice and an easy thing to comment on. So I understand. Honda has always done great with showing the performance gains over past models and changes with their illustrations they also release. So there is a lot of info out there.

I made this RMZ up inspired by the CRF and Husky designs .2027 RMZ450 joke design copy.jpg?VersionId=Qzw83BiuFts28Yi

Colors honestly look good with numbers and backgrounds and a blue seat.

Does the 250 lose weight and up power like this?  As an offroad guy this is interesting.

Honda was my first love, they just dont offer much in the way of what I ride anymore.  But a lighter 250f with some ponys from the factory could get me back.

I don't think they've announced the updated 250 yet, and my understanding is that it'll likely be 2028 before it gets updated.  I imagine it will get the same chassis updates.  Since the 250F is a different engine the engine updates may be different.

Hitting the dealership floors in July is pretty quick with this one being the prototype.

I have to admit it...that 2027 Honda 450 looked really good at Pala (Appearance wise I mean). I was watching it on Peacock and liked how the seat was red/blue and the red/blue plastics...Honda logo...all looked awesome. I didn't like it at first, but seeing it racing with subtle changes, the bike looks sweet.

SKDA with the holeshot for those of you with 25-26 bikes who like the look. Even have all red or red/black versions: I really like the new look with their tweaks.

I think the blue seat helps the flow of the blue.  And the little blue they added to the shrouds .  I've never been a fan of logos angled like that. But that's just me.   As a graphics maker, I like the lines  of the plastic on the bike and I'm excited to do some of them up.  The shroud design of the 25 and 26 CRFs made it harder to place logos than the 21-24 and this new bike .

It is insane that they were able to drop 9.9lbs and that's not a bigger deal in the replies. The blue fenders that most likely didn't cost anything different than red is grabbing all of the attention.  I was thinking they wanted to make sure it looked different since it lost so much weight and has such major changes. And doing it all red with a similar graphic might not have grabbed as much attention.  And they know plastic is easy enough to change. Keeping the seat red makes it easy enough for somebody to swap out the rear fender and plates and have a Red CRF again if they want. And they don't have to mess with the seat cover .

I'm curious to see if the weight loss might lead to reliability issues.  I assume these are oil passageways that are visible from the side of the cases now?  Is this part of what creates the weight reduction?  Why has it taken 20+ years of 4 stroke development to try this?  Are these going to be weak spots now?

prior ktm 450s weighed as low as 223 lbs and were reliable....not sure why the worry

Will the ‘27 HRC WE be worth an extra $2k? Not a slam dunk, but I think so. Be interested in difference of ECU, pipe, and “head work.” I do like the black lugs and triple clamps.

I'm a long time 350 lover but I rode a mates 25 WE on the wknd and really really liked it. If the 27 is a decent improvement from that then there may just be a red bike in my shed soon. Didn't love the blue rear when I first saw it but I must admit it doesn't look too bad on the WE once you get used to it.

I wouldn't bet the farm on it, we're still waiting on the first SXS that was promised in April.

Honda was my first love, they just dont offer much in the way of what I ride anymore.  But a lighter 250f with some ponys from the factory could get me back.

What do you think about the KX327 off-road coming out? I can see that potentially being a ktm killer. Jap build, no chinese parts.

I think it checks the boxes.  It comes with all the latest tech and goodies from the factory.  It will be interesting to hear some reviews and comparisons to the ktms.

I know people knock ktm for whatever reason but to me the 250/300 xc line is the standard for offroad 2strokes and maybe for offroad in general.  They make power and put it to the ground, are well built and stable.  People get so caught up in spec sheets but dont actually ride the bikes.

Im interested to see how the 327 makes the power. Will it be a slow revving tractor type machine? Will it be an outside animal?  I went with the 250 tbi because it revs quicker and further than the 300 and I felt like the smaller displacement allows me and my size to move the bike around much easier.

It sounds like kawi did their homework and I hope they knock it out of the park because the ktms are outstanding bikes but come with an outstanding price tag and im a bike Bop and idk if I can swing another machine  way over 10k.

I really want that new Kawasaki 2-stroke but damn why does this Honda have to be so good on paper with The 10 lb lighter and six horsepower more new gen bike! Lol

Decisions decisions.. This is really going to be a tough one between the Kawasaki KX327 two-stroke and the new Honda CRF 450!
